Chapter 1156 is part of the broader God Valley storyline collected in volume 114, but that volume-wide title does not mean the entire incident is depicted in this chapter alone.

What happens in chapter 1156?
A secondary chapter summary describes flashback material involving the Kuja Pirates, led by Gloriosa and Shakuyaku, the Roger Pirates, and Marines under Garp’s command. This places those groups in the same historical context, but the available summary does not support treating every major God Valley event as something shown in chapter 1156. For panel-by-panel details, read the official chapter.
Does chapter 1156 start the God Valley incident?
Chapter 1156 is part of the God Valley storyline: the official Japanese collected-volume index labels volume 114 “The God Valley Incident” and groups chapters 1156–1166 in that volume. That supports describing chapter 1156 as part of the larger story, not claiming that it alone depicts or explains the whole incident.
