Jetpack Cat works best as a mobile Support who moves between teammates, heals or damages with Biotic Pawjectiles, and uses Lifeline, Purr, and Catnapper for specific team needs. Flight gives her options, but staying airborne and far from allies can waste the kit: Blizzard says most of her abilities are most useful near teammates.
What Jetpack Cat does
Blizzard classifies Jetpack Cat as a Support hero with the Tactician sub-role. Her kit combines a mid-range projectile spread that heals allies and damages enemies with flight, ally transport, area healing, and an ultimate that disrupts enemies. That means she can contribute to damage while supporting, rather than switching between separate healing and damage modes. Blizzard’s hero page lists her abilities and PC default controls.
Her design points toward supporting teammates while moving between them, not simply spending the fight away from the group. Blizzard’s Weekly Recall feature says most of her abilities are most useful near allies and explains that Lifeline drew on a separate two-seater vehicle hero concept.
How to use each ability
Biotic Pawjectiles: support from mid-range
Use Biotic Pawjectiles to heal allies or damage enemies with its projectile spread. Choose targets according to what the fight needs; there is no single rotation that fits every situation. Staying at a useful supporting position lets you contribute without abandoning the team to chase damage.

Frenetic Flight: move toward a purpose
Frenetic Flight accelerates Jetpack Cat in the direction she is moving. Before spending fuel, decide where you want to end up—such as near a teammate who needs help or at a position from which you can support the group. This is a practical positioning principle, not a guaranteed optimal route.
Lifeline: trade fuel recovery for an ally’s reposition
Lifeline toggles Jetpack Cat into transport mode. An ally who accepts is towed, gains movement speed, and is healed. While carrying another player, Jetpack Cat’s fuel recovers more slowly, so use the ability when the transport or healing is valuable to that ally and the team. Carrying someone is not automatically the best choice whenever Lifeline is available.

Purr: area healing with an immediate knockback
Purr pulses area healing, with the pulses increasing in frequency over time. Activating it also knocks back nearby enemies. Consider both effects when choosing when to use it: it supports allies in the area and can displace nearby opponents. Blizzard’s description does not establish one universally best activation moment.
Catnapper: commit to the landing and target
Catnapper is Jetpack Cat’s ultimate. She dives to a ground location, knocks down enemies, and tethers the nearest one. Before committing, consider where she will land and which enemies are nearby; the landing point and nearest target shape the disruption you get. The official description does not provide a matchup-specific rule for choosing a target.

Choose an ability for the job
| Ability | What it offers | Key consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Biotic Pawjectiles | Mid-range healing for allies or damage to enemies | Choose targets based on the fight rather than following a fixed rotation. |
| Purr | Area healing that pulses faster over time, plus knockback on activation | Its support and displacement effects are both relevant. |
| Lifeline | Transports an ally who accepts, increases their movement speed, and heals them | Fuel recovers more slowly while carrying another player. |
| Catnapper | Dives to a ground location, knocks down enemies, and tethers the nearest one | Think about the landing spot and nearby targets before diving. |
Controls and balance notes
The controls displayed on Blizzard’s hero page are PC defaults, not universal inputs; Blizzard says they can be configured in-game. Check your own key bindings, and consult your controller settings if you play with a controller.
Balance values can change. Blizzard’s Retail Patch Notes page includes a May 21, 2026 entry reporting that ability damage per 1% fuel was reduced from 10 to 7.5. That dated figure is not a complete summary of current balance, so check the live game or current patch notes for values before relying on numerical damage advice. Overwatch patch notes.
