The new hero in Overwatch Reign of Talon Season 2 is Sierra, a damage hero—not a drone. Dorothy is the combat drone she carries. Blizzard’s second season is titled Summit, and launched April 14, 2026.
Who is the new Overwatch Season 2 hero?
Sierra is a new damage (DPS) hero in Overwatch. Blizzard introduced her in its April 13, 2026 Season 2 announcement, describing her as Head of Security at Watchpoint: Grand Mesa. She defended the facility against Talon.

Blizzard’s announcement says: “Armed with her rifle, a combat drone called Dorothy, and sharp wit for days, you’ll help push Overwatch onward to victory.” Dorothy is therefore Sierra’s combat drone, not a separate newly revealed hero.
What is Sierra’s story connection?
Sierra’s search for answers about her mother ties her story to Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes. The announcement also connects her family history to the Soldier Enhancement Program. Her role at Watchpoint: Grand Mesa brings her into the conflict with Talon directly.

What was the Operation: Grand Mesa event?
Reign of Talon – Season 2: Summit launched April 14, 2026, alongside the Operation: Grand Mesa event, according to Blizzard’s April 14 patch notes. The event ran April 14 through May 12, 2026, and was described as a three-week event. Players could unlock lore entries and Sierra-themed rewards, including voice lines, a spray, an avatar, and a namecard.

The season’s updates extended beyond Sierra and the event. Blizzard’s announcement and patch notes list these additions and changes:

The patch notes also say the Nintendo Switch 2 version officially launched with Season 2. Nintendo’s April 16, 2026 season report corroborates Sierra’s role and Dorothy’s status as her combat drone, and summarizes the season’s additions.
