The P-4 Senator is a sidearm in Helldivers 2. Arrowhead’s official notes document three notable changes: damage increased from 150 to 175, an empty-cylinder speedloader was added, and its sway modifier was reduced from 1.3 to 1. The latest official patch note located, Devoid of Liberty 7.1.0, does not list a Senator-specific change.
What is the P-4 Senator in Helldivers 2?
The P-4 Senator is an in-game sidearm. It is not a real-world firearm recommendation. Arrowhead’s notes describe pistol handling as suited to close combat and less effective at range because of increased drag. The Into the Unjust 6.0.1 notes attribute that design intent to Arrowhead Game Studios’ Player Support Team.
Did the Senator get buffed?
Yes. Arrowhead’s PATCH 01.000.300 raised its listed damage from 150 to 175 and added a speedloader when reloading on an empty cylinder, which the note says speeds up that reload considerably. These are figures and descriptions from the patch notes, not an independently verified current stat card.
What changed in the latest Senator balance note?
In Into the Unjust 6.0.1, Arrowhead listed a reduction in the Senator’s sway modifier from 1.3 to 1. The note explains the broader handling intent for SMGs and pistols: increased drag makes them close-combat weapons and less effective at range.

What changed in the latest Helldivers 2 update?
Arrowhead’s patch-note index listed Devoid of Liberty 7.1.0, dated October 7, 2026, as the latest update at the time checked. Its notes include weapon balance changes but do not list a Senator-specific change. That means the latest located official note does not document a new Senator adjustment; it is not a guarantee that no later or undocumented change exists.
