Why the Switch announcements stood out
Nintendo’s March 27, 2025 Direct announced PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY and EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS for Switch. Both franchises had long been associated with PlayStation. Their arrival on Nintendo’s console is a notable platform crossover, but the announcements do not establish any change in ownership or explain licensing arrangements. GamesBeat reported on the announcements.

When did Patapon 1+2 Replay come out on Switch?
PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY launched for Switch on July 11, 2025, alongside PS5 and PC via Steam. Bandai Namco describes it as a bundle of the first two games, originally released for PSP in 2007 and 2008. The publisher’s announcement calls it a 2D platform game combining rhythm-based action and real-time strategy.
How Patapon plays
You lead the Patapon tribe by striking drum commands in rhythm. Keeping the beat lets you issue orders as the tribe battles its way toward Earthend. The bundle includes updated graphics and three difficulty settings—Normal, Easy, and Hard—along with army customization. Bandai Namco says players can build units using more than 400 types of weapons and equipment.

What is Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots?
EVERYBODY’S GOLF HOT SHOTS is the latest entry in the golf series known as Hot Shots Golf in North America. HYDE developed the game, and Bandai Namco published it. The publisher announced it for Switch, PS5, and PC via Steam on March 27, 2025, then confirmed worldwide availability on all three platforms on September 5, 2025. Bandai Namco’s launch announcement describes its familiar three-button system: aim, time three button presses, and swing.
Modes and roster
The game includes solo play, Challenge Mode, and Wacky Golf, where randomized course changes and obstacles mix up a round. It also offers local and online multiplayer. Bandai Namco says the roster includes more than 25 playable characters, with character customization available.

Nintendo’s US store listing identifies the Switch release as a digital edition, released September 5, 2025. It lists support for TV, tabletop, and handheld play; local and online play for one to four players; and a download size of 6.2 GB. The choice is mainly about the kind of game you want: Patapon centers on coordinated commands and managing a small army, while Everybody’s Golf focuses on shot timing, courses, and multiplayer rounds. The official descriptions establish those differences, not a comparative quality verdict.
