For a related community option, a forum guide links an Infernalist Storm Mage build focused on Powered Zealots and says it was updated for Dawn of the Hunt. Which Witch ascendancy should you choose?
The current third-party indexes include Abyssal Lich, Lich, Blood Mage, and Infernalist builds, but their rankings do not establish a universal strongest ascendancy. Start with the mechanics and skill rotation of the specific build you want to play, then check its patch and progression needs. Grinding Gear Games introduced Lich in its official Dawn of the Hunt 0.2.0 notes with the statement, “Added the new Lich Ascendancy Class for the Witch.” That confirms when Lich was added, not how it ranks today. The patch 0.5.4 Witch index also lists Infernalist Herald of Ice and Purity of Lightning, Lich Profane Ritual and Purity of Ice, Blood Mage Life Remnants, and starter minion builds.
