Yes. Pearl Abyss completed the sale of CCP Games on May 6, 2026, and the company behind EVE Online returned to independent ownership as Fenris Creations. Fenris says it now has its own shareholders and board. The official announcements do not disclose the sale price or detailed transaction terms.
Who owns EVE Online now?
EVE Online is operated by Fenris Creations, the independent company formerly known as CCP Games. Fenris announced its return to independent ownership on May 6, 2026, and Pearl Abyss later confirmed that the sale had been completed that day. Fenris’s announcement describes the move as an agreed next step after both companies considered their long-term plans.

That distinguishes three names that can otherwise be confused: Pearl Abyss was the former owner; CCP Games was the company’s former name; Fenris Creations is its current name and independent owner of the company behind EVE Online.
What happened to CCP Games?
CCP Games became part of Pearl Abyss in 2018. Pearl Abyss’s third-quarter 2018 investor presentation identified CCP as the developer of EVE Online and described the acquisition as a way to obtain the game’s global intellectual property. In May 2026, the company returned to independent ownership under the Fenris Creations name.
