Spoilers for a late-game choice: If you want Persona 3 Portable’s True Ending, let Ryoji live. Killing him leads to the bad-ending path, while sparing him opens the True Ending route.
What happens if you kill Ryoji?
Nintendo Wire’s ending guide says that killing Ryoji skips the game forward to the beginning of March and puts you on the bad-ending path. Choose this only if you deliberately want to see that alternate outcome.

Does this apply to the remaster?
This choice concerns the story in Persona 3 Portable. ATLUS lists the remastered game as released on January 19, 2023, for Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, and marks it digital only: ATLUS’s Persona 3 Portable site. SEGA says the original game was released for PSP in 2009 and that the remaster has no packaged edition: SEGA’s product page. A used or imported PSP copy is therefore a different version from the digital remaster; used-copy condition and regional compatibility can vary.
