Phantom Blade Zero launched on October 28, 2026, so a preorder refund now depends on the storefront that charged you. On PlayStation, purchase timing and whether the game downloaded, preloaded, or streamed are central; on Steam, the post-release test is a refund request within two weeks of release with less than two hours played. Neither policy guarantees approval: check your transaction and submit the request through PlayStation Store or Steam.
Which refund rule applies after Phantom Blade Zero’s release?
Phantom Blade Zero was released on October 28, 2026, for PS5 and PC, according to PlayStation support and the Steam product page. The US PlayStation Store product page displays a release time of October 29 at 02:00 UTC; that is October 28 in the evening in US Pacific time, not a separate release date. Because the game is already out, use the post-release rules below rather than assuming that the more flexible preorder cancellation window still applies.

The answer also depends on where you paid. The relevant policies are not interchangeable: PlayStation’s eligibility hinges largely on purchase timing and download or streaming status, while Steam’s post-release rule uses the time since release and recorded playtime.
Preorders opened on August 12, 2026, for PS5, Steam, and Epic Games Store, according to S-GAME’s announcement. That date can help explain why preorder timing matters, but it does not by itself determine whether a particular order qualifies. Use the date and transaction details shown in the account that paid.

For reference, the US PlayStation Store lists the PS5 Standard Edition at $59.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition at $69.99. Those are the listed prices, not separate refund rules; the same storefront eligibility tests apply according to the transaction and content involved.
Quick comparison: PlayStation Store or Steam?
| Question | PlayStation Store | Steam |
|---|---|---|
| What matters after release? | When you paid and whether the main game was downloaded, preloaded, or streamed. | Whether the request is within two weeks of release and recorded playtime is under two hours. |
| Where do you start? | Transaction History, then Request Refund if available. | Steam Help, then Purchases and the refund request form. |
| Does downloading decide eligibility? | It can: no download or streaming is a central condition for ordinary digital-game requests. | Download status is not the stated test; post-release playtime and timing are. |
| Can a qualifying request be guaranteed? | No. Eligibility conditions do not guarantee approval. | No. Steam’s stated conditions are the standard eligibility test, not a promise of approval. |
This distinction is especially important if you have already installed the game. A PlayStation customer should not treat Steam’s under-two-hours standard as a substitute for PlayStation’s download and purchase-window conditions. A Steam customer likewise should not assume that an unplayed download is disqualifying under the PlayStation rule.
How do I request a Phantom Blade Zero refund on PlayStation?
Start in PlayStation’s Transaction History, select the Phantom Blade Zero charge, and choose Request Refund. If that option is unavailable, PlayStation directs customers to its support options, including the online assistant; the availability of a request path does not mean the refund will be approved.
- Sign in to the PlayStation account that made the purchase and open PlayStation’s refund-request support page.
- Open Transaction History, locate the Phantom Blade Zero transaction, and select Request Refund if it is offered.
- Follow the prompts and provide the information requested about the transaction. If the automated route does not offer a request, use the support options on the same page.
PlayStation’s US policy has different preorder rules depending on when you paid relative to release. The following distinctions matter for a request made after launch:
If you paid more than 14 days before release
PlayStation’s preorder rule says this type of preorder had to be canceled before the game’s release, and the main content could not have been downloaded or preloaded. Since Phantom Blade Zero is now released, a customer who missed that pre-release cancellation window should not assume the preorder rule gives them a new 14-day period starting on launch day. Ask PlayStation Support to assess the specific transaction rather than treating the release date as a fresh purchase date.
In practical terms, a buyer who placed an order well ahead of launch needed to act before October 28 under this preorder category. The fact that the game has only recently launched does not restart the cancellation period for an order placed more than 14 days before release. If the request option is not offered automatically, the next step is to contact PlayStation through the support route rather than selecting a different transaction or reporting an inaccurate purchase date.
If you paid 14 days or less before release
PlayStation says this preorder can be requested within 14 days of payment, including after release, provided the main game has not been downloaded or streamed. The relevant clock is tied to the payment date, not automatically to the date you first played or to the later date shown in a different time zone.

For example, a preorder placed close to launch should be assessed from its own payment date. Count the 14-day period from that transaction, and check whether the main content began downloading, preloading, or streaming. Do not assume every order made on the same calendar day has an identical cutoff; account records and the storefront’s handling of the transaction are the useful details to provide.
If you are using the ordinary digital-game rule
For a digital game, PlayStation’s general rule is that a request must be made within 14 days of purchase and that the content must not have been downloaded or streamed. PlayStation identifies faulty content as an exception to the ordinary no-download condition, and its policy also preserves rights that may apply under local law. These are eligibility conditions to raise with PlayStation, not a promise that every request will be accepted.
For a post-release purchase, this ordinary rule is easier to distinguish from the preorder rule: look at when the charge occurred and whether the content has been accessed in a way the policy counts as download or streaming. If the game is faulty, describe the problem accurately and ask PlayStation to evaluate it under its policy rather than assuming that the ordinary change-of-mind restriction settles the issue.
Does downloading or preloading Phantom Blade Zero affect a PlayStation refund?
Yes. For PlayStation, downloading, preloading, or streaming the main game can affect whether a digital-game refund request qualifies; this is different from Steam’s playtime test. PlayStation also warns that an automatic download can begin without you manually opening the game, so check your console’s download activity if you believe you never started it.
Preorder extras can matter, too. PlayStation says an immediately accessible extra included with a preorder may stop working if you cancel before downloading the main game. That is a consequence to consider before submitting the request, not a separate way to qualify for a refund.
If the game has downloaded, do not describe the situation as though it had not. Submit the accurate transaction details and ask support whether the faulty-content exception or any rights under applicable local law are relevant. The US PlayStation policy is the basis for the rules described here; customer rights and available remedies can differ by country.
Downloading and playing are not the same policy question on PlayStation. The policy focuses on whether the main content has been downloaded, preloaded, or streamed, not whether you spent a particular number of hours in the game. A player who downloaded the game but played briefly should therefore not rely on a low playtime as a workaround. Conversely, someone who has not downloaded or streamed the main content still needs to meet the applicable purchase or preorder time limit.

How do I request a Phantom Blade Zero refund on Steam?
Use Steam Help and submit the refund form for the Phantom Blade Zero purchase. Steam’s stated post-release preorder rule is that the request must be made within two weeks of release and the game must have been played for less than two hours.
- Sign in to Steam and open Steam’s purchase and refund instructions.
- Choose Purchases and select the Phantom Blade Zero transaction.
- Choose the problem that best describes your request, then select I’d like to request a refund.
- Complete and submit the form. Steam lets you choose the Steam Wallet or the original payment method as the refund destination, subject to its payment-method rules.
Steam’s preorder policy allowed a refund at any time before release. After release, its stated rule changes to the two-week-from-release window and less-than-two-hours-played condition. A request outside either limit is not covered by that standard eligibility test, though Steam’s request form is where to explain the circumstances and ask for a review.
Because Phantom Blade Zero released on October 28, the post-release window is measured from that release date—not from the date you bought the preorder or the day you first launched the game. Steam’s stated standard is two weeks after release. Submit promptly rather than waiting until the final day, especially if your account or the product page presents a time-zone-specific release timestamp.
Both parts of Steam’s test matter. A request submitted within two weeks does not meet the stated standard if the game has reached two hours of playtime; fewer than two hours does not meet it if the request is outside the time window. If you have not played the game, still submit through the purchase form and verify that your request is connected to the correct transaction.

Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Do not apply PlayStation’s download rule to Steam. The Steam preorder rule described here is based on playtime, not whether the files were downloaded or preloaded. Likewise, having played under two hours is not enough by itself if the request is outside Steam’s post-release time window.
How long can the refund take, and where will the money go?
The storefront’s processing time and refund destination are separate from whether the request qualifies. PlayStation says an approved refund goes to the original payment method where possible, or otherwise to the PlayStation Wallet, and may take 30 to 60 days to arrive. Steam’s general refund information says an approved refund can take up to seven days to appear; Steam Wallet credit may arrive sooner.
For a Steam preorder purchased more than six months before release, Steam says the original payment method may no longer be available for the refund, although Steam Wallet credit may still be requested. This is a restriction on the destination, not an extension of the refund eligibility window.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
These processing estimates apply after approval and should not be confused with the time you have to submit a request. On PlayStation, the 14-day conditions concern eligibility and the 30-to-60-day figure concerns receipt of an approved refund. On Steam, the two-week and under-two-hours test is the post-release eligibility rule, while up to seven days is the general stated processing time after approval.

For an ordinary change-of-mind request, begin with the store that processed the payment: PlayStation Store for a PlayStation purchase or Steam for a Steam purchase. S-GAME publishes Phantom Blade Zero, but the cited refund workflows and transaction records are handled through the respective storefronts. A publisher contact is not a substitute for submitting the storefront’s refund request.
Keep the request tied to the account and transaction that were charged. If you bought the game through another seller or storefront, the PlayStation and Steam instructions here do not determine that seller’s refund policy.
The publisher announced preorders for PS5, Steam, and Epic Games Store, but this guide covers only PlayStation Store and Steam rules. Do not use these steps to infer an Epic refund result: follow the storefront shown on the receipt for any purchase made elsewhere.

- For Steam: check the time since the October 28 release and the playtime shown for the game. The stated post-release rule requires both a request within two weeks of release and less than two hours played.

What if your situation does not fit the standard rule?
If the automated refund option is missing, the next step depends on the platform. On PlayStation, use the support options or online assistant linked from the refund-request page and ask the support team to review the transaction. On Steam, submit the refund request for the purchase and use the form to explain the relevant circumstances. Neither route guarantees an exception, but it gives the storefront the transaction information needed to assess the request.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I refund a Phantom Blade Zero preorder bought through Epic Games Store?
S-GAME’s preorder announcement included Epic Games Store, but the PlayStation and Steam rules in this guide do not establish Epic’s refund terms. Check the purchase record and submit any request through Epic’s own support and refund process.
Recommended Free Tools
Can I refund a gifted Phantom Blade Zero preorder on Steam?
If the recipient has redeemed the Steam gift, Steam says the recipient must first approve removing the game before the buyer submits a refund request. Steam explains that process in its preorder refund guidance.
Can an old Steam preorder be refunded to the original payment method?
Steam says a preorder purchased more than six months ago may not be refundable to its original payment method, though Steam Wallet credit may still be requested. That payment-method limitation is distinct from whether the refund request meets Steam’s eligibility rules.
I preordered Phantom Blade Zero—can I refund it after release?
Possibly, but the storefront’s rule controls. Steam’s stated post-release standard is a request within two weeks of release and less than two hours played. On PlayStation, purchase timing and whether the main game downloaded, preloaded, or streamed are central; a preorder paid more than 14 days before release had to be canceled before release.
Will I get my money back if Phantom Blade Zero already downloaded on PlayStation?
A download, preload, or stream can affect eligibility under PlayStation’s digital-game rules. PlayStation identifies faulty content as an exception to the ordinary no-download condition, and applicable local law may preserve additional rights. Submit accurate details and ask PlayStation to assess the transaction; approval is not guaranteed.
Can I refund Phantom Blade Zero on Steam if I played less than two hours?
Less than two hours is only one part of Steam’s post-release standard. The request also needs to be within two weeks of the October 28, 2026 release date. Submit the request through Steam Help → Purchases and check the recorded playtime and release timing.
How long does a Phantom Blade Zero refund take?
PlayStation says an approved refund may take 30 to 60 days and goes to the original payment method where possible, otherwise to the PlayStation Wallet. Steam’s general refund guidance says approved refunds can take up to seven days to appear, with Wallet credit potentially sooner.
The Bottom Line
Phantom Blade Zero released October 28, 2026, so start with the storefront that charged you. PlayStation applies purchase-date and download or streaming conditions; Steam’s stated post-release standard is a request within two weeks of release and under two hours played. Submit through the correct account, provide accurate details, and treat eligibility as a chance to request—not a guaranteed refund.
