Phil Spencer has said Xbox wants to support Nintendo Switch 2, but he did not confirm a specific upcoming Switch 2 game—and he did not announce Halo for the console. Xbox later announced Halo: Campaign Evolved for July 28, 2026, naming Xbox, PC, cloud and Game Pass; the cited platform list does not include Switch 2.
What Phil Spencer said about Xbox games on Switch 2
In an October 2025 interview with Famitsu, Spencer was asked about specific Xbox projects for Switch 2. He pointed to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, which had arrived on Switch 2 in July 2025, then spoke more broadly about making Xbox games available to players on other platforms.

Nintendo Life’s rough English translation of Spencer’s answer says Xbox is trying to lower the barrier to playing its games through services such as Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Game Pass, while welcoming people who want to play Xbox games on PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch 2. Spencer also thanked Sony Interactive Entertainment and Nintendo for their support. This expresses a multiplatform approach; it is not a list of announced Switch 2 releases. Nintendo Life’s report identifies its wording as a rough translation, not an official English transcript.
Spencer had made a similar general point in an April 2025 interview, saying he wanted to support Switch 2 and describing Nintendo as a strong partner. That earlier comment also did not name a particular game. Nintendo Life’s April report captures the statement.

Is Halo coming to Switch 2?
Spencer did not connect Halo to Switch 2 in the cited Famitsu interview. When asked about Halo, he discussed Halo Studios’ next work, its investment in Unreal Engine 5 and new technology, and taking the time needed to make the next entry a worthy one. That answer was about the studio’s plans, not a Switch 2 release.
Xbox Wire announced Halo: Campaign Evolved on June 7, 2026, with a launch date of July 28, 2026. Its platform line names Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud and Game Pass; it does not name Switch 2. Xbox’s showcase recap establishes what was announced then, but does not establish whether Xbox made a separate Switch 2 announcement afterward. It is therefore accurate to say that the cited statements do not confirm a Switch 2 version—not that a port can never happen.

What Xbox games are confirmed for Switch 2?
These remarks do not establish a broader slate of future Switch 2 games. Spencer’s reference to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 points to a game that was already released on the system in July 2025; his comments about welcoming Switch 2 players are not title-by-title commitments. Check a game’s own platform announcement and release details rather than inferring availability from Xbox’s general strategy.
