1. Identify what is crashing
Note when the failure happens: immediately after launching Pic-Me!, while it loads, after you enter a match, or when Windows itself freezes, shows a blue screen, or restarts. This distinction helps you choose the relevant next step; it is not a formal diagnostic test.
- Startup crash: begin with the graphics driver and Vulkan checks, then consider the OpenGL launch option.
- Gameplay crash: preserve the latest game log and share it with the developer.
- Whole-PC failure: investigate Windows or hardware stability rather than treating it as only a game crash.
2. Compare your PC with Pic-Me!’s listed requirements
GoofGames’ Steam listing describes Pic-Me! as a multiplayer card game, released December 16, 2024. Its listed PC requirements are:

These are the requirements stated on the Pic-Me! Steam listing, not a guarantee of stable play on every system that meets them. Steam also cautions that meeting a game’s requirements does not necessarily mean it will perform well.

3. Restart Windows and install pending updates
Steam’s general guidance for games that fail to launch recommends restarting the computer and checking for Windows updates. Save your work, restart, install any pending Windows updates, and try Pic-Me! again before moving on.
4. Update your graphics driver and check Vulkan support
For launch crashes, GoofGames’ December 20, 2024 update note advises players to keep their graphics-card drivers up to date and make sure the card supports Vulkan. Install the current driver offered by your graphics-card manufacturer, restart Windows if prompted, and retry the game. This is the developer’s game-specific guidance for startup crashes; it does not establish that every kind of crash has the same cause.

The update note does not specify a particular driver version or a separate Vulkan diagnostic procedure.
5. If Pic-Me! crashes on startup, try the developer’s OpenGL option
In a pinned Steam Community post dated January 26, 2025, GoofGames developer Willbo said the interaction between Godot and Vulkan could cause problems for some PCs. The post offers a launch option that switches the game to OpenGL:

- Open Steam and go to Library.
- Right-click Pic-Me! and choose Properties.
- In the General tab, find Launch Options.
- Enter
--rendering-driver opengl3, then close Properties and launch the game.
This is a dated developer workaround for some startup problems, not a universal fix. If it does not help, remove the option from Launch Options and continue troubleshooting. Willbo’s post says, “This should resolve the issue,” referring to the issue described there—not every possible crash.

6. Verify Pic-Me!’s files in Steam
Steam lists file verification as a general step for games that do not launch. In your Steam Library, open Pic-Me!’s Properties, select Installed Files, then choose Verify integrity of game files. Let Steam complete the check before launching the game again.

Steam recommends disabling non-essential software to check for software conflicts when a game will not launch. Close applications you do not need, then test Pic-Me! again. If the crash stops, reopen those applications one at a time to see whether the problem returns. The available Pic-Me!-specific guidance does not identify a particular overlay, security product, or other program as a known cause.

8. Collect the log or investigate a whole-PC crash
If Pic-Me! crashes during gameplay
GoofGames’ December 20, 2024 update note asks players who experience crashes while playing to start a Steam discussion and link the latest game log. Open this folder in Windows File Explorer:
%AppData%RoamingGodotapp_userdataPic-MElogs
Use the newest log file and include it in a discussion on the Pic-Me! Steam Community. For a persistent launch problem, Steam’s general guidance is to contact the game’s developer for in-depth support.
If Windows freezes, blue-screens, or restarts
Steam treats a blue screen or forced or automatic restart as a computer-level problem, not simply a game crash. Its support guidance names outdated drivers, possible memory faults, and overclocking or other changes outside manufacturer specifications as possible causes. If you are unsure how to diagnose a system failure, seek qualified technical help rather than repeatedly launching the game.
