To play the five main Uncharted games in story order, start with UNCHARTED: Drake’s Fortune, then play UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves, UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception, UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End, and UNCHARTED: The Lost Legacy. The first three are in UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection; the last two are in UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection. PS5 and PS4 can cover all five with the appropriate collections or editions. On PC, the official collection includes only Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy.

This order also matches the way PlayStation divides the games between its two collections. The first trilogy is sold together in The Nathan Drake Collection, while the final pair is sold in Legacy of Thieves Collection. If you want the complete main sequence, plan on obtaining both collections or the equivalent individual editions for your console.
There is no need to rearrange the games for a first playthrough. Starting with Drake’s Fortune gives you the intended introduction to the series, and continuing through Among Thieves and Drake’s Deception leads directly into A Thief’s End. The Lost Legacy is the fifth title in the complete sequence listed by PlayStation’s franchise materials.

Which collection contains each game?
Use the collection that matches the point in the story where you want to start. They are separate releases, not two names for the same bundle.
| Collection | Games included | Platform and presentation | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection | Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves, and Drake’s Deception | Three fully remastered PS4 games; the PS4 product is playable on PS5. | Starting the series and playing the first trilogy. |
| UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection | Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy | Remastered for PS5 and PC; the official PC package is this collection. | Finishing the sequence or playing the final two games on a newer platform. |
The Nathan Drake collection does not include Uncharted 4 or The Lost Legacy. Conversely, Legacy of Thieves does not contain the first three games. Buying one does not complete the five-game lineup.
The visual treatment is also different. The Nathan Drake Collection is the PS4 remaster of the original trilogy. Legacy of Thieves is the later remaster designed for PS5 and PC and packages only the fourth game and The Lost Legacy. PlayStation’s 2022 product page attributes more than 150 Game of the Year awards to Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End; that accolade does not mean the collection contains the earlier games.
How do I play all five games on PS5?
For the complete PS5 route, play The Nathan Drake Collection as a compatible PS4 title, followed by the native PS5 version of Legacy of Thieves Collection.
- Get The Nathan Drake Collection. A digital PS4 copy can be downloaded to a compatible PS5. A PS4 disc can be used on a PS5 model with a disc drive.
- Play the first trilogy. Launch Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves, and Drake’s Deception from the collection in that order.
- Get Legacy of Thieves Collection. This PS5 remaster contains Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy, completing the story sequence.
PlayStation says the PS5 is backward compatible with the overwhelming majority of PS4 games, and its support page refers to more than 4,000 PS4 games. That is broad compatibility, not a promise that every PS4 title works. Check the individual product listing when a particular edition is important to you.
Using PS4 discs on PS5
A PS5 with a disc drive can play compatible PS4 game discs. Insert the disc whenever you want to download or launch the compatible game. A PS5 Digital Edition has no disc drive and cannot read PS4 discs, so a physical copy of The Nathan Drake Collection will not work on that model.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The same hardware distinction matters if you qualify for a PS5 upgrade. PlayStation states that eligible PS4 purchases may have an upgrade path to Legacy of Thieves. For a qualifying PS4 disc, the disc must remain inserted whenever you play the PS5 digital version. PS4 discs are not eligible for the discounted upgrade on a PS5 Digital Edition because that console cannot verify or use the disc.
Using digital purchases on PS5
Sign in with the PlayStation account that owns the digital purchase and download the compatible PS4 version from your game library where available. A PS4 digital purchase and a PS5 upgrade are separate steps: basic backward compatibility lets you play the PS4 edition, while an upgrade offer may provide the remastered PS5 edition under PlayStation’s current terms.

Upgrade eligibility and any charge depend on the specific PS4 purchase. Check the current PlayStation listing before paying for a second copy. Do not assume that every disc, bundle, promotional version, or regional edition qualifies. If you already own an eligible PS4 edition of Uncharted 4 or The Lost Legacy, compare the listed upgrade option with buying Legacy of Thieves Collection outright.
How do I play the games on PS4?
On PS4, use The Nathan Drake Collection for the first three games, then use the PS4 editions of Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy.
- Buy or access The Nathan Drake Collection. It supplies Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves, and Drake’s Deception.
- Choose PS4 editions for the final pair. PlayStation distinguishes the PS4 releases of Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy from the PS5 Legacy of Thieves Collection.
- Verify the listing for your region. Bundle contents, prices, availability, and subscription inclusion can change, so read the current PlayStation Store description before checkout.
The PS4 route does not require the PS5 remaster. If you later move to PS5, a compatible PS4 digital game can generally be downloaded there, while a PS4 disc requires a PS5 with a disc drive. Basic PS4 compatibility is separate from any discounted or paid upgrade to the PS5 collection.
When shopping digitally, read the title and platform labels carefully. A listing for Legacy of Thieves Collection may be the PS5 edition, while a listing for an individual game may identify a PS4 version. Physical packaging and store pages can also use similar artwork, so confirm whether you are buying the first trilogy, the final pair, or one individual game.
Which Uncharted games are available on PC?
The official PC release is UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which includes Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy. PlayStation lists it on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The official PC package does not include Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves, or Drake’s Deception, so PC alone does not provide the complete five-game sequence.
That means a PC player starting with no prior access cannot legally obtain all five main games from the official PC storefront release. The PC collection covers the final two titles only. To experience the whole sequence, you need access to the first trilogy on a supported PlayStation platform as well as the PC collection, or you can play the entire sequence on PS4 or PS5 using the console editions.

PlayStation’s published specifications for Legacy of Thieves Collection list these requirements:
| Specification | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit | PlayStation’s listed recommended line does not add a different operating-system entry. |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | GTX 960 4 GB or Radeon R9 290X 4 GB class | GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 570 4 GB class |
| Storage | 126 GB | 126 GB; SSD recommended |
The 126 GB figure appears in both the minimum and recommended listings. The recommended tier specifically calls for an SSD, while the minimum storage line does not state that an SSD is mandatory. Meeting the minimum figures does not guarantee a particular frame rate, resolution, loading time, or graphics setting; it only matches the configuration PlayStation publishes for the collection.

Keyboard, mouse, and controller support
PlayStation lists keyboard and mouse, DualShock 4, DualSense, and other gamepads as supported input options on PC. Specific controller features vary by title. A connected DualSense therefore does not establish that every DualSense feature is active in both games, and a gamepad listing does not promise identical prompts or functions across every controller model.
PS5, PS4, and PC: which route is best?
| Goal | Recommended route | What you receive | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Play all five on a current PlayStation | The Nathan Drake Collection plus PS5 Legacy of Thieves Collection | First trilogy plus the remastered final pair. | Two separate collections are required. |
| Play all five on PS4 | The Nathan Drake Collection plus PS4 editions of Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy | Complete sequence in PS4 editions. | Does not include the PS5 remaster. |
| Play the officially supported PC release | PC Legacy of Thieves Collection | Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy. | First three games are not included on PC. |
| Use physical PS4 copies on PS5 | PS5 model with a disc drive | Compatible PS4 disc playback and, where eligible, an upgrade path. | PS5 Digital Edition cannot read the discs. |
For the simplest complete story on one console, PS5 combines the PS4-compatible first collection with the native PS5 final collection. For the lowest hardware change when you already own a PS4, stay with the PS4 editions. For PC players, confirm that the two-game scope is acceptable before purchasing.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Do I need to buy Uncharted again for PC and console?
Yes. A console purchase does not grant the PC version. PlayStation describes its PC and console releases as different products, and its PC FAQ says saves cannot currently be transferred between PC and console versions.
Owning Legacy of Thieves on PS5 does not unlock it on Steam or the Epic Games Store, and owning the PC version does not unlock it on PlayStation. A shared account or identical game title is not evidence of cross-buy. Plan for separate purchases and separate save progress when switching platforms.
The same caution applies when comparing a PS4 purchase with a PS5 upgrade. Backward compatibility can let a PS5 run the PS4 edition, but it does not automatically mean that you own the native PS5 remaster. Look for the specific upgrade entitlement and its conditions.
What should I check before choosing a version?
- Story coverage: Confirm that your plan includes both collections or the equivalent PS4 editions. One collection covers only part of the five-game sequence.
- Platform label: Check whether a store page says PS4, PS5, or PC. Similar artwork can represent different products.
- Physical PS5 use: Confirm that your console has a disc drive before buying PS4 discs. A PS4 disc cannot be used with a PS5 Digital Edition.
- Upgrade terms: Review PlayStation’s current eligibility rules for your exact PS4 purchase. Disc-based eligibility also depends on having a disc-drive PS5, and the disc must remain inserted to play the upgraded digital version.
- PC scope: Confirm that you are buying Legacy of Thieves Collection and understand that it covers only Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy.
- PC hardware: Compare your Windows version, RAM, graphics card, and 126 GB free storage with PlayStation’s published minimums. An SSD is recommended for the recommended configuration.
- Controls: If you plan to use a controller, verify the model and feature expectations. PlayStation lists DualShock 4, DualSense, keyboard and mouse, and other gamepads, but features vary by title.
- Cross-platform progress: Assume separate saves because PlayStation says PC and console saves cannot currently be transferred.
- Price and availability: Treat prices, stock, bundle contents, subscription inclusion, and upgrade charges as changeable. Check the current regional store or retailer listing rather than relying on an old deal.
Common buying mistakes
Buying only the Nathan Drake Collection
This gives you the first three games, not all five. You still need Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy through Legacy of Thieves or their corresponding PS4 editions.
