PlayStation’s 2025 holiday promotions have ended. The Philippines Holiday Sale ran December 18–31, 2025, while separate Black Friday and digital Store campaigns had their own dates and regional terms. Here’s what Sony announced, where each offer applied, and how to assess the historic prices without mistaking them for current deals.
Which PlayStation holiday sale applied in the Philippines?
Sony’s Philippines Holiday Sale ran from December 18 through December 31, 2025, at participating retailers. Sony said stock was limited and prices and availability could vary by retailer. The campaign covered PS5 consoles and bundles, PS VR2, DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers, Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore audio products, the Access Controller, and selected PS5 games. These were local retail offers, not a promise of matching PlayStation Store prices.

How did the separate Black Friday campaign differ?
Sony’s broader 2025 Black Friday campaign began November 21 and spanned PlayStation Store, PlayStation Direct where available, PlayStation Gear, and participating local retailers. Sony said offers varied by region and retailer, so its examples should not be read as universal prices. Announced examples included $100 off PS5 consoles in select regions, $20 off a DualSense wireless controller, $100 off PS VR2, and $20 off PlayStation Portal. Sony also advertised up to 33% off a 12-month PlayStation Plus membership for new or upgrading subscribers in participating countries.
Membership eligibility and participating countries mattered: the advertised PlayStation Plus discount was not an unconditional offer for every subscriber everywhere. Sony’s Black Friday 2025 announcement gives the campaign details and regional qualification.

Which digital Store sales ran over the holidays?
Japan BIG WINTER SALE
PlayStation’s Japanese BIG WINTER SALE ran December 22, 2025 through January 21, 2026, advertising discounts of up to 80% on eligible PS5 and PS4 games. The first offer phase ended January 7; the second ran January 5–21. Sony cautioned that individual titles could have different sale periods and that available content could change. The Japanese announcement cited Dragon Quest I & II at 20% off, ARC Raiders at 20% off, Silent Hill f at 40% off, and EA SPORTS FC 26 at 60% off. Those examples apply to Japan’s sale and pricing, not other territories. See the Japanese PlayStation Store announcement.
U.S. Holiday Sale reporting
Tom’s Guide reported on January 7, 2026, that the U.S. PlayStation Store Holiday Sale would run through January 21. Its article described more than 4,500 offers and cited Fallout 4 for $4 and Hogwarts Legacy for $10. These are secondary-reported examples from an expired U.S. promotion, not prices available now. Tom’s Guide’s January 2026 coverage provides that context.

How to compare PlayStation offers across regions and formats
Sale names and dates do not guarantee that the same product, price, or discount appeared in every country or sales channel. Compare like with like before deciding whether a listed deal was worthwhile:
- Match the country and channel. Check the local PlayStation Store for digital purchases, PlayStation Direct where available, or a retailer operating in that country. Do not compare a regional Store price with another country’s retail promotion as if they were the same offer.
- Check the exact product and bundle. A console bundle may include different accessories or games from a standalone console. Confirm the contents rather than comparing only the headline price.
- Read the offer dates and stock terms. Retailer participation, limited stock, and individual game sale periods can affect whether an advertised price was obtainable.
- Check membership eligibility. A PlayStation Plus promotion may be limited to new or upgrading subscribers and participating countries.
- Separate digital and physical editions. A PlayStation Store discount does not establish that a packaged retail copy received the same discount, or vice versa.
What Sony’s holiday gift guide did—and did not—confirm
Sony’s November 13, 2025 gift guide highlighted games and accessories, the Fortnite Flowering Chaos bundle launching November 21, and a collector’s book available for preorder ahead of a Spring 2026 launch. Those were gift-guide items and timing details, not evidence that each product was discounted in every holiday promotion. The guide is available from Sony’s 2025 PlayStation Holiday Gift Guide.

Are PlayStation’s 2025 holiday deals live now?
No. The Philippines retailer sale ended December 31, 2025; the Japanese BIG WINTER SALE ended January 21, 2026; and the U.S. Store sale reported by Tom’s Guide also ran through January 21, 2026. Sony’s Black Friday campaign was a separate earlier promotion. The historic prices and discounts above should not be used as current price quotes.
