Artwork briefly seen in a 2024 tour video of PlayStation Studios’ Malaysian office prompted fans to speculate that it might be connected to Bluepoint Games’ then-unannounced original title. That attribution was never confirmed. The story is now historical: Sony confirmed Bluepoint would close in March 2026.
What appeared in the PlayStation Studios Malaysia video?
Malaysian Minister Gobind Singh Deo shared a 46-second video during or after a tour of PlayStation Studios’ Malaysian office. GLITCHED reported that viewers noticed artwork in the clip; Push Square said it could be seen at about the 24-second mark. (GLITCHED; Push Square)
GLITCHED described fantasy-style buildings, a central statue and a character holding a staff. It also noted a separate image that some viewers interpreted as showing futuristic soldiers. Those descriptions concern what was visible in the video; they do not establish that the images were game assets or identify a project. (GLITCHED; GLITCHED)
Was the artwork confirmed to be for Bluepoint’s game?
No. Fans compared the images with artwork that had circulated after the Insomniac Games hack and thought they might be related to Bluepoint’s original game. The comparison was speculative: the reports did not confirm who created or owned the images, whether the Malaysian studio made them for Bluepoint, or whether they represented any game at all. At the time, GLITCHED reported that Bluepoint had confirmed its new project was an original title rather than a remake. That background did not verify the artwork’s connection to the project. (GLITCHED)
What changed after the 2024 sighting?
Game Developer reported that Bluepoint’s live-service God of War project was canceled in January 2025. In February 2026, Sony confirmed the studio would close the following month. Game Developer connected the closure decision to a recent business review and reported that 70 employees faced layoffs, citing Bloomberg. (Game Developer)

Game Developer quoted a Sony spokesperson praising the team’s technical expertise and thanking it for its “passion, creativity and craftmanship.” In an employee email reproduced by Gematsu, Sony Interactive Entertainment Studio Business Group CEO Hermen Hulst attributed the decision to industry pressures, saying: “Rising development costs, slowed industry growth, changing player behavior, and broader economic headwinds are making it harder to build games sustainably.” The email also said Bluepoint would close in March. The video shows artwork that viewers found reminiscent of previously circulated images, but the reports leave its creator, owner and intended project unidentified. Bluepoint’s reported original game does not resolve that uncertainty. The images should therefore be described as artwork fans speculated might be connected to the project—not as confirmed concept art for a Bluepoint game.
