The official description of Pokémon’s Gen 10 games promises an open world of windswept islands and a vast ocean. A new report says alleged beta dialogue fills in more: around 100 islands, 18 larger ones, and a culture with 3,000 years of history. Those specifics remain unconfirmed leak claims, not announced features.
What do the new Pokémon Gen 10 leaks say about the setting?
VICE reported on October 3, 2026, that alleged beta text describes a region where the world’s winds and waves gather. The text reportedly places around 100 islands in the region, including 18 larger islands, and refers to a culture shaped by 3,000 years of history. VICE says the opening dialogue suggests players arrive by plane before hearing about the islands and tours.
These figures and details come from alleged beta dialogue, not a public statistic or setting description from The Pokémon Company or Game Freak. The reported material may date from a 2023–2024 build, so it may not reflect the games as they are now.
What has been officially confirmed?
In its February 27, 2026 coverage of the announcement, TechRadar reproduced the official press-release description: the games will “feature an open world to explore, with beautiful windswept islands and a vast ocean with glittering waves.” That establishes the broad island-and-ocean premise, but not the number of islands, their layout, or the region’s history.

An independent tracker’s July 11, 2026 check of official information also identified an open-world island region, ocean, ecosystems, and natural forces that may block the player’s path. Its checkpoint predates the October report and should not be read as a statement about every later official update. It marked the region’s name, full map, procedural generation, named battle mechanic, and leaked story roles as unconfirmed at that time.
What else does the alleged beta text mention?
According to VICE, the text names a battle mechanic called “Majinization,” an item called the “Majinize Band,” and a “Majinize Research Lab.” It reportedly outlines three tours: League Tour, Legend Tour, and Majinize Tour. A character named Konetsu is said to accompany the player.

The around-100 figure and the count of 18 larger islands are claims attributed to the alleged beta text by VICE. No independently published official statistic for the setting is established in the sources cited here. The broad archipelago idea is official; its exact scale and geography are not.

Repeated coverage of the same anonymous leak would not amount to independent confirmation. Treat a detail as confirmed only when it appears in a first-party announcement or other official material. The tracker also cautions that confirmation of broad setting details does not validate unrelated claims from the same leak source.
