The event has ended. Its key evolution bonus was Blast Burn for Incineroar: evolve Torracat during the event or within five hours after it finished. Incineroar also gained Darkest Lariat as a move-pool addition that remained available afterward.
When was Litten Community Day?
Niantic announced the event on February 29, 2024. It ran Saturday, March 16, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Litten appeared more frequently in the wild during that window. This guide is a historical reference; the event and its limited-time offers are over.
Could Litten be shiny in Pokémon GO?
Yes. Shiny Litten encounters were possible during the event. Niantic’s announcement did not state a shiny rate, so there is no official event-specific percentage to report.
How to get Blast Burn Incineroar
Evolve Torracat into Incineroar during the three-hour Community Day or by 10:00 p.m. local time on March 16, 2024—five hours after the event ended—to receive the Charged Attack Blast Burn. Niantic listed Blast Burn at 110 power in Trainer Battles and 110 power in Gyms and raids. Niantic’s Litten Community Day announcement gives the event-specific evolution window and figures.

Blast Burn vs. Darkest Lariat
These moves had different availability rules. Blast Burn was the temporary event evolution bonus; Darkest Lariat became available to Incineroar starting with the event and remained available afterward.

These are Niantic’s published power figures, not a full competitive ranking or a damage-per-second comparison. The announcement does not establish an optimal Incineroar moveset or recommend one move for a particular battle format. General Community Day guidance describes how featured attacks work generally, but it does not establish Incineroar’s present Elite TM access.

Community Day bonuses and extras
During the main event hours, Niantic listed these bonuses:
- 3× XP for catching Pokémon.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- Twice the chance of receiving Candy XL when catching Pokémon for Trainers level 31 and above.
- Incense lasting three hours.
Bonus raids after the event
Bonus raids ran from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time after the main Community Day window. This was a separate, later event period.

Niantic offered an exclusive Special Research story for US$1.00 or the equivalent local pricing tier in 2024. The announcement also described snapshot surprises and a Pokémon GO Web Store Community Day bundle. These were historical event offers; that announcement does not establish that they remain available or give current prices.

For future Community Days, Niantic’s Help Center recommends a strong internet connection and setting the device to detect the timezone automatically. It notes that inaccurate or fluctuating clocks and GPS can cause issues; its Android guidance points players to Google’s Improve Location Accuracy setting. A portable power bank can be a useful optional accessory for a long outdoor play session, but it is not a Niantic requirement.
