System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster is the Epic Games Store game reported free this week. Epic lists it at US$29.99; a guide updated October 4, 2026, reported the giveaway running through October 8 at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time. That reported cutoff may have passed, so check Epic’s Free Games page now to see whether the offer is still claimable.
What game is free on the Epic Games Store?
The game is System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. Epic’s US store listing shows a price of $29.99; prices can differ by region. The October 4 guide also reported that Buried Stars was part of that week’s free offer, but check Epic’s live page for current availability.
Epic describes its Free Games program as a weekly promotion, with a new free game arriving every Thursday on PC and mobile. Its page states, “Epic Games Store gives you a free game every week.” The schedule describes the program generally; it does not guarantee that a particular title remains available after its claim window.
How long is System Shock 2 free on Epic?
A guide updated October 4, 2026, reported that the offer would end October 8 at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time. This is a dated report, not a live confirmation. Epic’s localized listing search result also showed a sale ending October 8, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., but it did not identify a time zone or clearly establish that the time referred to the free giveaway. Do not treat those times as interchangeable. Confirm the active promotion and its displayed deadline on Epic’s Free Games page.

How to claim the free Epic game
- Open Epic’s official Free Games page and locate System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster.
- Check that the game is still marked free and review the deadline shown on the live offer.
- Sign in to your Epic Games account and complete the claim during the promotion period so the game is added to your library.
Epic’s support guidance says limited-time free promotions must be claimed while they are active to add a game to your library. It does not promise that a missed promotion can later be reclaimed for free.
What does the $29.99 price mean?
Epic’s listing gives the game a US price of $29.99, and the October 4 guide reported the same regular US list price. That is a storefront price, not a universal value: pricing and availability may vary by region. The giveaway is a time-limited Epic promotion, so the practical next step is to verify the offer and claim it through Epic while it is available.
