What was the Might and Mastery Special Research?
The official Pokémon GO season page described the free research as a chance to “Encounter Dynamax Kubfu and more with this Season’s Special Research.” Its parts unlocked over the course of the season. The season itself began March 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time; the free research became claimable the following day, March 5, at 10:00 a.m. local time, and its claim window closed June 3 at 9:59 a.m. local time. What were the research tasks and rewards?
The official announcement did not publish a task-by-task breakdown. The five-stage list below is transcribed from Serebii, a secondary Pokémon GO reference, rather than an official task list. It records task rewards separately from the reward for completing each stage.

Adding the four listed stage rewards that include Kubfu Candy gives 225 Kubfu Candy in total. That is an arithmetic total from Serebii’s listing, not a separately stated official statistic. For a disputed historical task or reward, the in-game record or an official record is more authoritative than a secondary transcription. Was there a paid Special Research path?
Yes. The official season announcement also offered a separate paid path with another Dynamax Kubfu encounter. The historical ticket price was US$8.00 or the equivalent local pricing tier. Tickets were sold from March 5 at 10:00 a.m. through March 10, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. A ticket holder had to open Pokémon GO during that window to receive the research; after receiving it, they could complete it at any time. The purchase and receipt windows have passed, so the ticket is not presented here as currently available. The official season announcement gives the offer terms.

Why was Kubfu central to the season?
Kubfu is a Fighting-type Pokémon, and the official season page said that training it could lead to one of two Urshifu forms: Single Strike Style or Rapid Strike Style. The seasonal research was also tied to the season’s Dynamax theme. The announcement does not establish that completing this research alone guaranteed both Urshifu forms, so it should not be read as a promise of both outcomes.
