It introduced Kubfu, featured Charcadet in Eggs and offered event research, raids and weekend Max Battles. The free Might and Mastery Special Research had a longer claim window, but that window also ended in June 2025.
When did the Powerful Potential event run?
The main event ran Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. through Monday, March 10, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Its Egg bonuses, event Timed Research and other time-limited activities are no longer active.
How could players get Kubfu?
Kubfu debuted in Pokémon GO during Powerful Potential. The free Might and Mastery Special Research offered the season’s story path, with Kubfu framed as the Trainer’s partner Pokémon. Players could claim that research from March 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. until June 3, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time; the claim period has ended. Pokémon GO’s event announcement stated that Kubfu could not be traded, transferred to the Professor, or transferred to Pokémon HOME.
What happened with Charcadet and Eggs?
Charcadet could hatch from 2 km, 5 km, 7 km and 10 km Eggs during the event, alongside the usual seasonal Pokémon in those Egg groups. Shiny Charcadet became available as a possible hatch encounter for the first time in Pokémon GO; the announcement did not give encounter odds.
