Quaxly Community Day took place on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The event has ended, and the special evolution window for getting Hydro Cannon on Quaquaval closed on July 27, 2025. Niantic has not announced another Quaxly Community Day.
When was Quaxly Community Day?
The featured Pokémon appeared more frequently in the wild on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Shiny Quaxly was possible, but Niantic did not publish a numerical Shiny encounter rate for the event. Niantic’s event announcement contains the original details.
How did you get Hydro Cannon Quaquaval?
During the event and the announced post-event window, evolving Quaxwell into Quaquaval gave it the exclusive Charged Attack Hydro Cannon. For this Community Day, the deadline was July 27, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time. That deadline has passed, so evolving Quaxwell now does not qualify for the event’s Hydro Cannon offer.
Niantic’s general Community Day help page describes an exclusive attack being available through evolution during the event or up to five hours afterward. The Quaxly-specific announcement set a longer window, through July 27, and is the relevant deadline for this event.

What research and encounters were available?
Event Field Research could award Stardust, Great Balls, Quaxly encounters and other rewards. Trainers who logged in during the event could also access a weeklong Timed Research opportunity; its tasks and rewards had to be completed and claimed by July 27, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time. The announcement also offered ticketed Special Research.
Were tickets or event bundles available?
For the 2025 event, Niantic listed a Special Research ticket for US$1.99 or the equivalent local price tier, plus an Ultra Community Day Box through the Pokémon GO Web Store. These were event offers, not evidence of current availability; the event and its offers have ended.

Niantic describes Community Day as a limited-time event with increased appearances of a selected Pokémon and a possible exclusive attack through evolution. Before a future event, check its specific announcement for the event hours and evolution deadline, since the featured Pokémon’s instructions control. Niantic’s help guidance also recommends a strong internet connection, automatic timezone detection and accurate location settings.
