Scroll Cup rules and timing
For the August 2026 run, Scroll Cup: Great League Edition capped Pokémon at 1,500 CP and allowed Water-, Fighting-, and Dark-type Pokémon. Primarina was explicitly excluded. Niantic’s Forever Forward schedule placed the cup from August 18 through August 25, 2026. Its Twilight Trails schedule lists other formats for October 6–13, 2026, so these team suggestions should not be treated as advice for the live October rotation.

A guide published for the August 2026 cup run suggested these lineups. They are options to evaluate, not an official ranking or independently verified winning teams.

How to choose between the lineups
- Check eligibility: For this cup, each Pokémon needed to meet the 1,500 CP cap and have a permitted Water, Fighting, or Dark type. Do not use Primarina; Niantic excluded it.
- Look beyond type coverage: A community analysis of an earlier Scroll Cup run highlighted Fairy pressure in a field with many Dark- and Fighting-type Pokémon. It discussed Azumarill, Kingdra, Hydreigon, Zweilous, Blaziken, Araquanid, Tentacruel, and Walrein as notable picks. - Use Pokémon you can build: Compare the Pokémon you own and the movesets you can field. No source-backed, standardized comparison of the two teams’ build costs is available.
- Judge against your own battles: Note which opposing Pokémon give you trouble and adjust accordingly. The published suggestions do not establish one definitive best team.
