A Dexerto report published October 22, 2024 described leaked footage of a purported Pokémon online co-op project, reportedly codenamed “Synapse.” The footage was said to show players riding Pokémon and battling, but neither the project’s identity nor its features have been officially confirmed in the sources available.
What is the leaked Pokémon co-op game?
Dexerto reported that leaked material concerned an online co-op Pokémon battling game. The report associated the project with the names “Synapse” and “Rodeo,” but those are leak-report terms, not confirmed official titles. The report also said the project’s future was unclear. Dexerto’s October 22, 2024 report is the basis for these details.

What does the leaked gameplay reportedly show?
According to Dexerto, the footage showed players riding Pokémon and fighting, including attacks involving another Pokémon. The report also described a weapon-like object in leaked images. These descriptions concern material reported as leaked; they do not establish what a finished game would include.
Is Pokémon Synapse real or officially confirmed?
The available official announcements do not confirm that a game called Synapse exists as an announced product, nor do they establish its identity, development status, platforms, player count, or release plans. Game Freak acknowledged unauthorized access to its servers in August 2024 and the leak of personal information in an October 10, 2024 notice. That notice provides context about a breach but does not identify or confirm the reported co-op game.

Nintendo’s announcement was published March 2, 2026.
