A Pokémon Pokopia preview from Serebii displays concept art for Peakychu alongside several other character designs, including Mosslax, Smearguru, Professor Tangrowth and Ditto transformations. Peakychu is an unusually pale, peculiar-looking Pikachu character. The preview shows which designs are featured, but the original person or publisher who first shared these specific images has not been established.
What appears in the Pokopia concept-art preview?
Serebii’s preview gallery names seven entries: Ditto Dragonite transformation, Ditto human transformation, Ditto Lapras transformation, Mosslax, Peakychu, Smearguru and Professor Tangrowth. That list distinguishes character concepts from Ditto’s alternate forms rather than presenting seven unrelated Pokémon. The Dragonite and Lapras entries show how the game visualizes Ditto taking on recognizable Pokémon shapes, while the human transformation connects directly to the player-facing premise.

The gallery is useful for identifying the designs associated with the game, but a gallery label is not a development document. Concept art can show an intended look without confirming a Pokémon’s type, moves, origin, personality, quest role or final in-game behavior. Readers should therefore compare the entries by the form or character shown, not infer mechanics from color, posture or mood.

Who is Peakychu?
Peakychu is presented as a peculiar-looking Pikachu in official Pokémon material. Its pale appearance is part of the character’s distinctive look, making it visually different from the familiar yellow Pikachu. Official descriptions do not identify Peakychu as a Ghost-type Pokémon, and they do not establish a separate type, evolution, backstory or combat ability. Claims based only on the artwork should be treated as fan interpretation unless a future official announcement says otherwise.

In an interview with Famitsu, as translated and reported by GamesRadar+, Pokopia chief director Takuto Edagawa said Game Freak staff created the Pokémon designs. He recalled that the co-development team was “surprised and thrilled” when it first saw them. Edagawa also described Peakychu’s “temporal and melancholy feel” and said the team internally called it “unfortunate Pikachu.” Those comments frame the design as deliberately affecting and unusual, rather than accidental or a confirmed horror-themed variant. The wording is presented as GamesRadar+’s translation, not as language independently checked against a complete English transcript.
How do the featured designs differ?
Peakychu is a named Pikachu character, while Mosslax, Smearguru and Professor Tangrowth are separate concepts identified in the same preview. The three Ditto entries are transformations: Dragonite, human and Lapras. This is the clearest comparison the preview supports. It shows the range of Pokopia’s visual ideas—from a modified familiar mascot, to large character concepts, to Ditto reshaping itself—without proving that every pictured form has the same gameplay function.
The official Pokémon Pokopia announcement describes a town-building game in which Ditto takes human form and works with Pokémon to rebuild a town. The Pokémon Company, GAME FREAK and KOEI TECMO are credited as co-developers. Nintendo lists the game as a Nintendo Switch 2 title, and the Nintendo UK product page confirms that platform. A Nintendo Switch 2 is therefore the hardware requirement stated by the official product information; the cited pages do not provide a universal price or regional purchasing terms.

What is known about who shared the art?
The Serebii preview displays and identifies the concept-art entries, so it supports saying that a Pokopia preview shared or featured the gallery. It does not establish the original social post, first publisher or exact first-publication date for these particular images. It is therefore inaccurate to credit Serebii—or an unnamed social account—as the first source without a documented chain of publication. “Shared” describes the gallery’s availability, not a proven first-disclosure claim.
How the art fits the game’s release
Pokémon Pokopia launched on March 5, 2026. In an August 14, 2026 announcement, The Pokémon Company and Nintendo reported more than 5 million copies sold worldwide in the first four months after launch. The figure is attributed to Nintendo data and includes digital sales. It is a dated total from that announcement, not a promise that the same number represents the game’s current lifetime sales.
The game’s post-launch plans are separate from the concept-art gallery. In its September 9, 2026 Expansion Pass announcement, The Pokémon Company said Part 1 was available, Part 2 was planned for late 2026 and Part 3 for 2027. Those plans provide useful release context, but they do not confirm that Peakychu, Mosslax, Smearguru, Professor Tangrowth or any Ditto transformation will receive new mechanics through the pass.

What should readers take from the preview?
The strongest conclusion is visual rather than mechanical: Pokopia has a broad, stylized character roster, and Peakychu is one of its most striking designs. The official material supports calling her pale and peculiar-looking, while Edagawa’s translated comments explain why the team found the character memorable. The preview identifies the gallery’s contents, but questions about first sharing, exact origin dates and unannounced character details remain open.
