Promo Card 008 is PROMO-A 008/P-A, a Pokédex card in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. Its original gift offer ran from January 20 through April 30, 2025, and the reviewed sources do not confirm that it is obtainable in a live event as of October 8, 2026. Check the current in-game event guide and Shop for any active route.
Which card is Promo Card 008?
The number refers to 008/P-A in the Promo-A series, and the card is named Pokédex. It is easy to confuse with PROMO-A 004/P-A, which is also a Pokédex card but is a separate card listed as an in-game Shop item. The number and historical distribution are recorded in Bulbapedia’s Pokémon TCG Pocket card list.
How was PROMO-A 008 originally distributed?
The original offer was a gift available from January 20 through April 30, 2025. GamesRadar reported that players could redeem it from the game’s Gifts tab until the April 30 deadline. That was a past offer, not evidence of a current claim option.
What reissue routes were announced?
On October 23, 2025, DeNA announced events bringing back Promo-A cards through several in-game routes. Its announcement said, “You can obtain promo packs vols. 1–6 and 8–13 by winning battles.” Missions could also award an event shop ticket exchangeable for one promo card in the Shop. A separate Wonder Pick event brought back Promo-A cards that had appeared in earlier Wonder Picks, with missions offering a ticket redeemable for one promo card.

These were announced reissue mechanisms, not proof that PROMO-A 008 appeared in every event or is currently available. A ticket exchange could select one promo card in the announced event, but it should not be treated as a guarantee of 008 unless that event’s card selection explicitly includes it.
Battle promo packs are random
Official Pokémon TCG Pocket Support says winning a battle does not guarantee a promo pack, and a pack can contain cards other than the featured one. The card obtained from a pack is random. Check the specific event’s in-game guide and pack details to see which cards it includes.

Is Promo-A 008 still available?
Availability on October 8, 2026 is unverified: the cited sources document the original 2025 gift period and reissue events announced that year, but do not establish a live event or later rerun. Open the current event guide and Shop in Pokémon TCG Pocket to check for an active offer. If neither lists the card or a relevant exchange, the sources here cannot confirm another way to obtain it.
