- Can’t join co-op or the session drops: the game may run acceptably on your PC, but you cannot enter or remain in an online session. Focus on the internet connection and session setup rather than assuming a graphics problem.

Check your PC against Steam’s listed requirements
Steam lists the following requirements for the PC version. They are storefront specifications, not a benchmark or a guarantee of a particular frame rate. Meeting the minimum does not ensure smooth performance in every situation.

These values are listed on the Steam store page. If your PC falls below a listed minimum, that is a useful compatibility clue, but it does not identify the cause of a specific issue.

General PC checks for low FPS or stuttering
The official Steam Community known-issues thread acknowledges performance and frame-rate reports. It also says the game’s complex traffic system makes some issues difficult to prevent completely. That is a historical statement, not evidence that every current PC has the same problem or that one setting fixes it.

- Close other demanding applications. Save your work, then quit apps that may be using substantial CPU, memory, or graphics resources and check whether gameplay changes.
- Lower graphics settings temporarily. Reduce demanding options in the game’s graphics settings, then compare performance in a similar situation. Change one setting at a time so you can tell whether it matters.
- Check for system and graphics-driver updates. Use Windows Update and the support or update utility for your graphics hardware. Updating is a general maintenance step, not a guaranteed game-specific fix.
- Restart the game and PC. This can clear a temporary software or resource issue; if the problem returns, note when it happens and what was running.
Official update announcements include stability and performance among their subjects, but they do not establish that a particular update resolves your present symptom. You can review the game’s Steam news and update notes for published changes.
General checks for online co-op problems
The official FAQ confirms that Police Simulator: Patrol Officers supports two players together in online co-op. The publisher’s 2021 announcement described the mode as a two-player patrol experience. Steam also lists broadband internet in the PC requirements. These facts confirm that online co-op is supported; they do not establish a current server status, exact invite workflow, port-forwarding requirement, crossplay behavior between storefronts, or guaranteed connection fix.

- Separate a game-specific failure from a general network issue. Check whether each player can use other online services. If only this game’s session fails, record which player hosts or joins and the exact point where the attempt fails.
- Avoid assuming a router change is required. The official material reviewed does not specify ports, router settings, or a universal network configuration for co-op.

Keep a short record of the symptom, when it occurs, your PC’s processor, graphics card and memory, and whether the problem affects one player or both.
