Amazon Prime Gaming announced its April 2025 lineup on April 3, 2025, led by Mafia III: Definitive Edition and Minecraft Legends. The promotion was available to eligible Prime members during its claim windows, not permanently free to everyone. Because this was an April 2025 offer, check the live Prime Gaming page before assuming any title is still claimable.
The two headline games
Mafia III: Definitive Edition
Prime Gaming offered Mafia III: Definitive Edition as a GOG code. That means the entitlement belonged on a GOG account after redemption; it was not a Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, Xbox, or Amazon Games App copy. Redeem it through GOG if the code is still available or has already been issued to your account.

The Definitive Edition is the expanded version of 2K’s open-world crime game. For the exact contents of the current GOG package, check the product listing rather than assuming every platform package is identical.
Minecraft Legends
Minecraft Legends is a separate action-strategy game set in the Minecraft universe—not the original Minecraft and not Minecraft Dungeons. The Prime offer used a Microsoft Store code and was announced for PC and Xbox.
#1 Best Overall
- DELUXE EDITION: Includes the Minecraft Legends base game and the Deluxe Skin pack, featuring 6 additional in-game skins: 1 hero, 4 mounts, and an additional mount skin when it becomes available.
- Experience an epic legend from the Minecraft universe and the Overworld as you’ve never seen it before.
- Form alliances with new friends and familiar mobs, then lead the charge in epic battles against the fierce piglins to defend the Overworld.
- Traverse a lush, dynamic world that’s rich in resources and different in each playthrough.
- Challenge your friends or team up in intense battles as you defend your village while leading your units to destroy your opponents’ settlements (requires Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, each sold separately).
Redeeming it required the Microsoft account intended for play. A Microsoft Store code does not provide a Steam copy, and readers should verify the code’s platform and regional terms before completing redemption at Microsoft’s redemption page.
Other games named in the April schedule
The April announcement also identified these titles:

- Gravity Circuit — Amazon Games App
- Paleo Pines — Amazon Games App
- DreadOut 2
- ENDLESS Space: Definitive Edition
- God’s Trigger
- New York Mysteries: Power of Art Collector’s Edition
- Clouds & Sheep 2 — Amazon Games App
This is the set of additional titles named in the supplied announcement, not a claim that it represents the complete monthly lineup. Contemporary coverage described a broader April program, with one report referring to 23 games overall. Delivery method and storefront can differ by title, so use the individual Prime Gaming claim page for the definitive platform information.
Where each offer was delivered
| Game | Delivery route | Platform or storefront |
|---|---|---|
| Mafia III: Definitive Edition | Code | GOG |
| Minecraft Legends | Microsoft Store code | PC and Xbox, as announced |
| Gravity Circuit | Direct claim | Amazon Games App |
| Paleo Pines | Direct claim | Amazon Games App |
| Clouds & Sheep 2 | Direct claim | Amazon Games App, according to contemporary coverage |
| Other listed titles | Varied | Verify on the individual claim page |
This distinction matters: “free with Prime Gaming” does not mean one universal download. A GOG code cannot be activated on Steam, and a Microsoft Store code does not turn into a Steam entitlement. Amazon Games App claims may remain tied to the Amazon Games library rather than producing a transferable third-party key.
Rank #3
- REDEMPTION INSTRUCTIONS: Go to "Your Orders" and click "View Order" to receive install code. On your Xbox: Open the Microsoft Store App --> Redeem --> Input code.
How claiming worked
- Visit gaming.amazon.com and sign in with the Amazon account connected to an eligible Prime membership.
- Open the free-games or included-with-Prime section and select a title.
- Choose Claim, or the equivalent current control if Amazon has changed the interface.
- For Mafia III, follow the GOG linking or code-redemption instructions and confirm the correct GOG account.
- For Minecraft Legends, follow the Microsoft redemption flow while signed in to the Microsoft/Xbox account intended for play.
- For Amazon Games App titles, add the game to the Amazon Games library and install the app if prompted.
Amazon said new games would be added for claiming each Thursday during the April program. Storefront and account choices should be checked carefully before redemption because codes redeemed to the wrong account can be difficult to move or recover.
Was it really free?
The games were available at no additional charge to eligible Amazon Prime members during their promotional claim windows. They were not free for everyone, and the offer depended on membership eligibility, country, storefront, and expiration dates. A Prime trial or recently canceled membership should not be assumed to qualify without checking Amazon’s current terms.
Rank #4
- The infinite possibilities in Minecraft just got bigger; The gaming phenomenon is coming to the console for the first time exclusively to Xbox 360
- The new crafting interface in Minecraft for Xbox 360 delivers a completely new way to build Minecraft worlds where your imagination is the only limit
- Full featured Tutorial mode to teach the basics and help master essential skills faster
- Social Multiplayer – up to 4 player split screen on one console, share the experience for the first time from the comfort of your couch
- Play Minecraft for Xbox 360 with Friends over Xbox LIVE, combine split screen and Xbox LIVE play in any combination up to 8 players
Once a third-party code has been redeemed, the resulting entitlement is generally governed by the receiving storefront. A GOG game belongs in the GOG account library, a Microsoft title belongs to the Microsoft account used for redemption, and an Amazon Games App title is accessed through the Amazon Games library.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIs the April 2025 offer still available?
If the claim page no longer offers a code, the practical alternatives are to check the relevant official storefront directly: GOG for Mafia III: Definitive Edition or Xbox/Microsoft for Minecraft Legends. Avoid unofficial code-sharing forums and gray-market key sellers.
Regional and platform checks
- Prime Gaming catalogs and redemption options can vary by country.
- Confirm whether a Minecraft Legends code applies to PC, Xbox, or both before redeeming it.
- Use the Microsoft account that should permanently own the entitlement.
- Do not assume an announcement’s Amazon Luna country list applies to every downloadable game.
- Do not assume cross-play, cross-progression, or multiplayer access without checking current first-party support information.
Who benefited most?
The strongest fit was an existing Prime member who wanted a PC or Xbox addition and was comfortable using the required storefront. Xbox and Microsoft Store users had a straightforward route for Minecraft Legends, while players willing to use GOG could claim Mafia III: Definitive Edition. Readers who already owned both headline games had more reason to inspect the smaller Amazon Games App and other listed releases.
For anyone discovering the story after the promotion, the key question is not whether Prime once included these games—it did—but whether the specific title still appears on the current Prime Gaming claim page for the reader’s region and account.
