PUBG MOBILE’s 0.16.0 update added new modes and gameplay features alongside a short, specifically listed set of scene fixes. Announced on December 9, 2019, the update was scheduled to begin rolling out December 11 with no server downtime. Its official notes identify two Miramar fixes and one Vikendi fix; they do not claim to resolve every issue players reported.
When 0.16.0 arrived and how large the update was
PUBG MOBILE said rollout would begin December 11, 2019, following the December 9 announcement. The notes said there would be no server downtime. Players on different patches could not invite one another, so friends needed compatible versions to play together.
For players updating from the older version, the official notes estimated approximately 0.67 GB of storage space on Android and iOS. This is the stated requirement for that historical update, not the current game’s download or installation size. PUBG MOBILE’s official 0.16.0 patch notes attribute that estimate to the publisher.
Which bugs did the official notes say were fixed?
Under “Bug Fixes: Scene Bugs,” the 0.16.0 notes name three fixes:

- Miramar: corrected an inconsistent appearance between the two sides of a building window.
- Miramar: fixed a bug that could leave a player stuck in a confined space.
- Vikendi: fixed a bug that could leave a player stuck in stones.
That is the full scene-fix list stated in the official notes. It does not establish that every reported crash, gameplay issue, or other bug was fixed, nor does a 2019 patch note tell players whether any of these problems occur in current versions.
What else changed in the update?
RageGear and Snow Paradise
RageGear added team-based vehicle combat, with driver and shooter roles and mounted weapons. The notes describe two formats: RageGear-TDM and Pick Up. In Classic Erangel, Snow Paradise introduced a winter-themed area where players could ride cable cars and snowboard.

Team Deathmatch and perspective controls
Team Deathmatch gained editable loadouts, with options unlocked progressively through Evo Level and firearm mastery. Players could also enable or disable sliding in TDM. In Classic, Arcade, and Training Grounds, a configurable button let players switch from third-person perspective (TPP) to first-person perspective (FPP) during a match.
Healing and interface options
Players could use healing items while moving, though movement was slower during the action, and bandages could be used continuously through an automatic option. The update also added separate customizable interfaces for Classic, Team Deathmatch, and Infection.

Other additions
The notes also list spectator-tier restrictions, friendly-fire controls, a Theme Gallery, invitations and friend additions after matches, and rewards for downloading maps. These changes sat alongside the headline modes and gameplay adjustments rather than forming part of the three-item scene-fix list.
What performance improvements did PUBG MOBILE claim?
The publisher described several performance changes: further reduced lag in Team Deathmatch; better rendering-resource use for high-spec models in TDM; lower resource usage for some high-spec models and in battle across various models; a higher basic frame rate on some low-spec models; smoother camera rotation, scope opening, and movement through the map; and shorter time to enter battle on some Android devices.

These are qualitative claims in the official notes, not independently measured results. PUBG MOBILE did not provide before-and-after benchmarks, device-by-device measurements, or a quantified frame-rate improvement, so the notes do not establish how much faster a particular phone became.

A December 16 community repost attributes a separate list of fixes to the PUBG MOBILE Team. Examples in the repost include Spawn Island Angry Birds grenade volume, vehicle respawns in Payload and RageGear, TDM attachment display and results screens, throwable behavior, the friend-invitation panel, changing seats in RageGear, and a missing item button with joystick controls.
