There is no verified, universal “best weapon” for every Ready or Not mission. This ranked list is an editorial shortlist: it prioritizes versatile roles and explains when a weapon choice should change with the mission. It is not an official tier list or a claim based on controlled testing.
Version note: Checked October 8, 2026. Weapon balance and the available roster can change with updates; the official Ready or Not announcements feed is the place to check for later changes. The sources available for this ranking do not establish a complete, current weapon-stat table, so the placements below are recommendations by role—not verified numerical comparisons.
How to read this ranking
Weapon choice in Ready or Not depends on more than a weapon’s name. Consider the engagement distances a mission is likely to create, how controllable the weapon is in tight spaces, and how its ammunition interacts with armor and cover. The ranking favors broadly useful roles, but a lower-listed pick can be the better choice for a particular map, team plan, or threat profile.
That emphasis on ammunition is not cosmetic: VOID Interactive’s December 1, 2023 development briefing said, “Our ammo damage and penetration values have been revamped across all ammo types in order to provide more realistic gameplay.” The briefing described changes involving tissue damage, armor penetration, cover penetration, spalling, and ricochet. Those notes explain why ammunition behavior matters, but they are not a current weapon-by-weapon stat sheet.

- True Tactical Gameplay: Ready or Not is a true tactical shooter. Every mission is a high-stakes, life-or-death operation. Strategically forge your squad of elite SWAT officers, equip them with the right weapons and gear for the mission, position your team to tactically breach criminal strongholds and quickly identify and neutralize threats in tense, life threatening scenarios.
- Your Mission is the Story: Ready or Not confronts you with a raw, unflinching mirror of real-world crime, exposing the horrors of human trafficking, drug running, illegal arms dealing, militant extremism, and terrorism through interwoven storylines that span multiple missions.
- Cross-Comradery: Team up with friends to stem the tide of crime infesting the city. Enhanced with crossplay, Ready or Not supports up to five players in a co-operative tactical experience on all platforms. Communicate effectively to increase your tactical precision, watch your squad’s back, and successfully complete your mission.
Recent player discussions likewise show the limits of a single all-missions answer: recommendations are subjective, and players note that opinions can change by map. The community question “What’s the best weapon in Ready or Not?” is useful as a framing question, not as evidence of a controlled comparison.
The 10 best weapon picks by role
The order below is an editorial recommendation, not a measured power ranking. Each entry is included for the job it can serve; exact current damage, shots-to-incapacitate, and weapon-specific armor performance are not established by the cited sources.
1. MCX — versatile rifle option
The MCX earns the top spot as a strong general-purpose choice for players who want a rifle role that can cover varied engagement distances. Its value is flexibility rather than a verified damage advantage. Choose it when the team expects a mix of rooms and longer sightlines; reassess if a mission calls for a narrower role.
Rank #2

- SQUISH THE FEWEST POOPS TO WIN: In this kids game, place "poop piles" of soft clay on the floor mat. Then spin the Animal Tracks spinner, and move like that animal while trying not to step in the poop—blindfolded
- 8 SILLY WAYS TO CROSS THE MAT: The 2-sided Animal Tracks spinner includes 8 different animal actions! Get ready for lots of giggles as your little ones waddle, march, move in slo-mo, and more
- HILARIOUS GAME FOR KIDS AGES 4+: This active game for kids and families is easy to play, and it’s such a laugh-out-loud good time that even adults will want to join in
- EASY TO SET UP: Setting up is part of the fun! Using the plastic mold, kids shape the compound to look like piles of poop and place them on the mat. Includes 4 cans of compound and an easy-to-clean floor mat
2. LVAR — rifle choice for a more compact setup
The LVAR is a useful alternative when a player wants a rifle option in a more compact configuration. That makes it a sensible role-based pick for missions where moving through interior spaces is central. The available evidence does not establish that it outperforms the MCX in damage, penetration, or handling.
3. F90 — another adaptable rifle pick
The F90 belongs on a versatile shortlist for players who prefer a rifle-oriented loadout. Treat its placement as a practical option, not proof of superiority over other rifles: current comparative stats were not established. Match it to the mission’s likely distances and your own control of the weapon.
4. UMP-9 — compact option for close engagements
The UMP-9 is a role-focused choice for close-quarters work, where a compact weapon can suit movement through confined spaces. Do not assume that a compact platform automatically handles armored threats better or worse; ammunition behavior is material, and a current comparative stat source is not available here.
Rank #3
- FUN CARD GAME FOR THE FAMILY: Get ready for a super-fun, fast-paced, and unpredictable card game. Break out the game at parties, for fast fun on weeknights, and game night with the family
- KEEP IT UNDER 21 TO STAY ALIVE: Players have to keep the running total under 21 to stay in the game. If they go over, they flip an Alive card. Lose five lives and you're out
- THINK FAST, TAKE RISKS: Do what it takes to survive 5 Alive! Players need to strategize, take chances, and press their luck as they try to get rid of their cards as quickly as possible and force their opponents to flip
- WILD CARDS: The twist is in the wild cards! Players can play them to save their life, or zap their opponents' life
- FUN FAMILY CARD GAME: The game is easy to learn and fun for just about everyone! It's a great indoor activity for 2-6 players and makes a great travel game for kids ages 8 and up
5. Supernova — shotgun option when the role calls for it
The Supernova gives the shortlist a shotgun choice for players who specifically want that weapon type. It is less of a default all-purpose recommendation than the rifle options above: consider the mission layout and the team’s planned engagement distances before selecting it. The evidence does not support a precise damage or incapacitation claim.
6. TLE 1911 — sidearm option
The TLE 1911 is a sidearm pick, not a substitute for choosing a primary weapon that fits the mission. Its place in a loadout depends on the player’s role and contingency plan. No current evidence cited here establishes that it is the strongest sidearm by capacity, damage, or other numerical measure.

The TPL belongs on a best-weapons list because “best” can mean suited to a less-lethal role, not simply highest stopping power. It is a specialized pick for a team that intends to use a less-lethal option. The available source identifies it as a less-lethal launcher but does not establish detailed current performance or mission-specific outcomes.

8. A standard rifle setup — for teams prioritizing reach
When a mission creates longer sightlines, a conventional rifle-oriented setup may make more sense than choosing solely for tight-room movement. This is a role recommendation rather than a claim about a particular unverified model’s ranking. Confirm the weapon’s current in-game behavior and ammunition options before treating it as a reach-focused advantage.
9. A compact weapon setup — for teams prioritizing confined spaces
On maps dominated by interiors and short transitions, a compact weapon role can be preferable to optimizing for distance. The UMP-9 and LVAR above illustrate different weapon categories to consider, but the available evidence does not settle which is objectively easier to control or faster to use in a given map.
10. A less-lethal loadout choice — when restraint is the priority
A less-lethal choice can be the best fit when the team’s approach centers on restraint. The TPL is the named launcher in the official briefing’s list of weapons added in its update context. Select it because the role fits the plan, not because it is a universal replacement for a lethal primary weapon.

Choose by mission, not just by rank
- For a flexible starting point: begin with a rifle role such as the MCX, LVAR, or F90, then adjust for expected distances and your own handling preference.
- For close, confined routes: consider a compact option such as the UMP-9, while avoiding assumptions about unverified armor performance.
- For a specialized weapon role: consider the Supernova as a shotgun option or the TPL for a less-lethal plan; neither is presented here as a universal pick.
- For any armored or cover-heavy threat: think about ammunition behavior as well as the weapon platform. VOID Interactive’s briefing identifies armor penetration and cover penetration as mechanics that have been reworked.
Why a precise universal tier list would mislead
The official weapon-update briefing is dated December 1, 2023, and describes additions including the MCX, LVAR, F90, Supernova, UMP-9, TLE 1911, and TPL alongside remade models and an ammunition rework. Later updates followed, so that briefing is useful design context, not proof of current balance. The official announcements feed also reflects an actively updated game.
The available sources do not provide a complete, current comparison of weapon damage, penetration, capacity, controllability, or shots-to-incapacitate. As a result, the order here should be read as a practical role-based shortlist—not as a verified claim that weapon one beats weapon two in every scenario. A genuinely stat-driven ranking needs current, version-matched authoritative figures.
