Microsoft notes that restoring a quarantined file places it back on the device and may cause Windows Security to detect it again. If it is detected repeatedly, treat that as a reason to verify the original media and the complete installation, not as a reason to keep forcing the file back.

Fix 3: Remove obsolete fax integration if you do not need it

If you no longer send faxes through Outlook or an old Office installation, removing the broken component is often safer than rebuilding it.

Remove the parent application

1. Save any documents or configuration you need.
2. Open Settings.
3. Select Apps.
4. Select Installed apps or Apps & features.
5. Find the Office or fax-related parent program.
6. Choose Uninstall, or choose Modify and remove then add the fax component.

regsvr32 is not a general DLL repair utility. It registers DLLs that expose a registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer. Microsoft documents failures when a DLL is missing, has missing dependencies, or is not self-registerable.

Do not run this as a routine fix:

regsvr32 reglib32.dll

Only use regsvr32 when the original product documentation explicitly requires registration and the verified file is confirmed to export the required registration function. That has not been established for reglib32.dll.
