EA has added a rebalanced difficulty range, including a new Hard mode, and lets players carry the fictional team into the revamped My Team mode. Those features give the story a clear role in the wider game, but the available evidence supports a review of its premise and design—not a verdict on how its scenes, pacing, or challenge feel in play.
A third chapter built around Konnersport
Braking Point is back for its third chapter in F1 25. EA’s official announcement frames the story around Konnersport, the fictional team introduced in F1 23, and a dramatic event that throws it into chaos as it pursues championship contention. That makes this a continuation of an existing team’s story rather than a factual account of real-world Formula 1 events. EA’s announcement describes the new chapter and its premise.

The series has returned intermittently: it began in F1 2021, came back in F1 23, and continues here. The earlier chapter covered the 2022 and 2023 seasons and introduced Konnersport and protagonist Callie Mayer, according to EA. That context helps explain why F1 25 can focus on the team’s next upheaval without needing to establish it from scratch.
The darker framing is a natural fit for a team under pressure, but a dramatic premise is not, by itself, proof of a successful drama. Without verified play observations, claims about the writing, character development, pacing, or emotional payoff would go beyond what can be established. The sound critical question is whether this chapter gives returning players a meaningful continuation while making the stakes legible to newcomers; the official materials establish that aim, not whether the story achieves it.

Difficulty options: more choice, not a proven balance
EA says it has rebalanced Braking Point’s difficulty settings and added a new Hard mode. The publisher presents the range as a way for players with different skill levels to find an appropriate challenge, as described on its Braking Point 3 feature page. That is a feature description, not independent evidence that the settings are well tuned or that Hard mode is consistently demanding.
For a narrative racing mode, difficulty matters because it can shape how readily a player moves through its scripted events. But no measured comparison of the settings, or firsthand account of their feel, is available here. Players should treat the expanded options as a stated flexibility improvement rather than a guarantee of a particular experience.

What returning to Konnersport adds to F1 25
EA also says Konnersport’s legacy can continue beyond the story: the team and its drivers become available in the revamped My Team mode. That connection gives Braking Point a route into the game’s broader team-management play, rather than leaving Konnersport solely as a cast and setting for the narrative. Whether that creates a satisfying sense of continuity depends on the player; the feature itself is confirmed by EA’s announcement and feature page.
ESPN characterizes this as the final chapter for Konnersport. That is useful framing for players following the team’s arc, but it should not be read as confirmation that EA has permanently ended the Braking Point mode. The distinction matters: this can serve as a conclusion for one fictional team’s storyline without settling the future of the series. ESPN’s review makes the Konnersport-specific framing.

Release context and who should care
F1 25 launched worldwide on May 30, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, according to Formula 1’s launch announcement. Braking Point’s return makes the game relevant to players who want a scripted story alongside its racing, particularly those already invested in Konnersport. Newcomers have a clear entry point in the team’s current crisis, although the available materials do not establish how much prior-story knowledge the chapter assumes.
The strongest case for this installment, on the documented features alone, is its combination of a fresh Konnersport crisis, a newly added difficulty option, and a bridge from the story into My Team. Those are meaningful structural reasons for the mode to return. They do not settle whether the darker story is compelling or whether its challenges are enjoyable; those judgments require direct play evidence.
