Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was available on Game Pass from launch, and its substantial, story-led adventure is the sort of recognizable blockbuster experience that can make the subscription feel worthwhile. That is a reviewer’s value judgment, not proof of a return on subscription cost or a verdict shared by every player.
Is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Game Pass?
Yes: the game launched on December 9, 2024, for Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and Steam, with day-one Game Pass availability. Xbox Wire’s launch announcement gave the date, platforms, and day-one access; MachineGames’ launch announcement said the Standard Edition was included with Xbox Game Pass.

Why the adventure suits Game Pass
MachineGames, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, built a new Indiana Jones journey as an action-adventure. Bethesda’s gameplay reveal introduces the story and its creators, while its gameplay deep dive presents a story-driven adventure through a first-person view.

That combination is the heart of its appeal: this is not just a familiar name attached to a short novelty. It offers a full-scale adventure built around moving through the world, discovering what it contains, and pushing a story forward. The first-person perspective gives the journey its own identity rather than simply asking players to reenact the films. For a subscription library, a substantial, recognizable single-player experience can be an especially satisfying find: you can start the adventure without making a separate purchase, assuming it remains included for your plan and region.
What to expect from the experience
The game’s appeal rests on the Indiana Jones atmosphere and the way the adventure brings exploration, puzzles, stealth, and combat together. The shift to first person is a meaningful choice: it places the player inside the journey, making investigation and traversal part of the experience rather than just connective tissue between set pieces.
That mix also means it is best approached as an adventure, not as a pure action game. Exploration and puzzle-solving are central to the rhythm, while stealth and combat provide other ways to deal with danger. Players seeking constant, uninterrupted action may find that variety less immediately gratifying; players who enjoy a story-led journey with different kinds of challenges have more to engage with.

Should you play through Game Pass or buy it?
If the game is currently included in your Game Pass catalog, playing through the subscription is the straightforward choice for someone who wants to try the adventure without buying a separate copy. If you want to own a copy, Bethesda’s purchase page lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, and PlayStation 5. It also lists physical availability, with a caveat that physical copies are not available in every region; retailer stock may vary.
| Option | What it means | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Game Pass | Day-one access was included at launch. | Confirm current catalog status, plan terms, and regional availability. |
| Digital purchase | Bethesda lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, and PlayStation 5. | Choose the storefront for your platform and region. |
| Physical copy | Bethesda lists physical availability for the game. | Availability varies by region; check local retailers and current stock. |
The same Bethesda page lists a Collector’s Bundle with an 11-inch Great Circle globe with hidden storage, an Allmaker relic replica, a Jumbo SteelBook display case, an adventure journal, and the Premium Edition with game disc and premium content. That is a collector-oriented alternative, not a different way to access the core Game Pass offer; check the regional listing for current availability and exact contents.

What comes after the base game?
Bethesda lists The Order of Giants as separately purchasable DLC, available from September 4, 2025, and requiring the base game. It is additional content, not part of the original day-one Game Pass availability statement. Check the storefront listing for current platform and regional details before purchasing.
Verdict
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle makes a persuasive personal case for Game Pass because launch access put a substantial, story-driven Indiana Jones adventure within reach without a separate game purchase. The official release details establish that it was included at launch; whether the subscription is worthwhile for you depends on its current catalog status, your plan, and how much you want to play this particular adventure.
