Rocket Pass 4 brought the Mudcat, a rally-inspired Battle-Car, to Rocket League when the pass launched on August 28, 2019. It also changed Weekly Challenges: instead of expiring at the end of their week, they stayed available until the pass ended on December 3, 2019.

What was the new rally-inspired car in Rocket Pass 4?

The new car was the Mudcat, described by Psyonix as a rally-inspired Battle-Car. Players who purchased Premium unlocked the Mudcat immediately, then could progress toward the Mudcat GXT and Pro Tiers. The announcement introduced it as a reward exclusive to Rocket Pass 4. Psyonix’s August 21, 2019 announcement called it the pass’s lead new reward.

When did Rocket Pass 4 start and end?

Psyonix announced the pass on August 21, 2019, and scheduled its launch for August 28, the day after the Season 12 update. The update notes specify a launch time of 10:00 a.m. PDT / 5:00 p.m. UTC. The pass ended December 3, 2019. Psyonix noted in a correction to the announcement that an earlier version had incorrectly listed December 4 as the end date. The Season 12 update notes confirm the launch details.

How did Rocket Pass 4’s Weekly Challenges work?

Both the Free and Premium tracks offered three new Weekly Challenges each week. Completing a challenge awarded three, five, or eight Tier Points. Unlike the previous weekly expiration approach, Rocket Pass 4’s challenges remained active for the duration of the pass. For example, a Week 3 challenge could still be completed in Week 4 or Week 5, and later, as long as the pass had not concluded. Players who purchased Premium later could also access earlier Premium challenges. Psyonix’s update notes explain the extended challenge window.

How did tiers and rewards work?

Free and Premium tracks

Rocket Pass 4 had 70 tiers. The Free and Premium tracks offered separate rewards; Premium added items beyond those on the Free track. Psyonix’s earlier Rocket Pass overview describes the general distinction between the tracks, while the Rocket Pass 4 announcement gives the pass-specific tier and reward details.

Pro Tiers

After the 70 standard tiers, players could continue into Pro Tiers, which offered painted or special-edition versions of selected rewards. Psyonix said those Pro Tier items were tradable.

What did Premium cost at the time?

At the time of the 2019 announcement, Rocket Pass Premium cost 10 Keys. The 20-Key Premium Bundle included Premium access plus 12 additional tiers. These are historical, announcement-era terms, not evidence of a current offer or current Rocket League currency pricing. The older Rocket Pass overview’s 2018 price information predates Rocket Pass 4 and does not establish its price.
