Rockstar describes 6000.87 as “a network connection issue between your PC and Rockstar Game Services.” The Launcher may show Online sign in failed and then report that it could not fall back to offline sign-in because you have not previously signed in on that machine. In practical terms, the Launcher cannot complete an online authentication exchange, and it does not have a valid remembered session to use instead.
That wording does not identify one single cause. A Rockstar outage, a local profile problem, unstable Wi-Fi, blocked traffic, DNS resolution trouble, router behavior, or security software can all prevent the required connection. Rockstar’s error-specific instructions therefore begin with service availability and then move from the least disruptive local checks to network and PC configuration.

Why can’t the Launcher use offline sign-in?
Offline sign-in is not a universal bypass for 6000.87. Rockstar says the computer must have completed a successful online sign-in previously, with Remember me enabled, while the services were available. A first sign-in on a PC, a machine whose remembered profile was removed, or a profile that was never saved cannot be authenticated offline.
Consequently, repeatedly choosing an offline option will not solve a first-time or unremembered login. 2. How do I delete the Rockstar Games Launcher local profile?
With services showing as available, use the Launcher’s built-in command:
- Open Rockstar Games Launcher.
- Select Settings.
- Open Account Information.
- Choose Delete local profile.
- Confirm the deletion, restart or return to the sign-in screen, and enter your Rockstar account details again.
This removes profile details stored on that computer and requires another sign-in. Rockstar states that it does not delete your Rockstar account or saved games. You will need the account credentials and any required verification method available because the Launcher is creating a fresh local sign-in state.
3. How should I check my internet connection?
First confirm that the PC can reach other internet services. If websites and other applications also fail, repair the broader connection before changing Launcher settings. Restarting the Launcher after the connection is stable prevents you from testing against a stale failure.
Rockstar’s general Launcher guidance lists 7.5 Mbps download as a good target. It lists 0.5 Mbps upload as a minimum and 1 Mbps upload as recommended. These are general connectivity targets, not a guarantee that every connection at those speeds will authenticate; latency, packet loss, filtering, and service availability can still matter.
If you are using Wi-Fi and the problem continues, connect the PC directly to the router with a wired Ethernet connection and retry. A cable is an optional diagnostic: it can distinguish wireless interference or signal instability from a problem that remains on the wired network. It is not a remedy for a Rockstar outage and is not required for every player.
4. Which UDP ports does the Launcher use?
Rockstar lists five UDP ports for the Launcher. A home router or PC firewall that blocks the required traffic can prevent the connection even when ordinary web browsing works.
