To get started in Roco Kingdom, choose the starter you like, keep Dimo in your core team, and catch new Jinies with Buddy Pods rather than trying to level a whole box at once. Weaken wild targets without knocking them out, match pods to their class when you can, and build a six-Jini lineup with varied class coverage. The global Quack Quack closed beta began on 27 October 2026; its test roster has 212 Jinies, while Morefun advertises 400+ for the full game.
What should I do first in Roco Kingdom?
Roco Kingdom is a free-to-play, cross-platform open-world creature-collecting RPG. You play as a Roco from a magic academy, exploring Carosia, befriending Jinies, and battling with them. The main early loop is straightforward: explore, catch, earn resources, train a focused party, and use class matchups to handle tougher fights.

The global test is not the same as the Chinese server. Global English uses “Jinies,” “Buddy Pods,” and the starter names Sparka, Meevy, and Cerulla; some Chinese-server fan guides use different English names and item names. The guide below uses the global English terms.

How do I catch Jinies with Buddy Pods?
Buddy Pods are the capture items: select one, aim at a wild Jini, and throw. Depending on the pod and target, you can try a capture in the open world without starting a battle or weaken the Jini in combat first. Morefun has not published exact global-beta capture percentages, so no fixed success rate can be promised.
Catch in the open world
Advanced Pods can be thrown at wild Jinies to attempt a catch without entering battle. The in-game capture tips recorded by RocoKingdomTools say that a Jini is easier to catch if it has not spotted you, or if you throw from a distance. Sneak up or approach from behind when possible; throwing from farther away may also help. Outdoor Duels are one source of Advanced Pods.

Other targets may be water, buried, spectral, or disguised, so check the current item tooltip and target behavior instead of assuming every pod works on every encounter.
Catch during battle
- Lower the target’s Health carefully. A community beginner guide suggests roughly 20% Health or lower as a useful heuristic, but that is not an official global capture threshold; the in-game tip is simply that lower Health improves the chance.
- Do not knock the target out. If you have a Jini with the Merciful specialty, its final hit will not KO the target, which can preserve a capture opportunity.
- Throw a Basic Pod or Advanced Pod when the target is weakened. The tools guide lists Basic Pods as battle-only; Advanced Pods can be used in battle or in the overworld.
- Take advantage of a Critical Capture if it triggers. The tutorial line recorded by RocoKingdomTools says a Critical Capture automatically maxes out the Buddy Pod’s capture rate.
Stunning with the star-themed wand can leave a Jini Dizzy so it misses its first turn, according to Pocket Gamer’s account of the game. Sneaking up from behind before engaging can also help if your plan is to weaken it in battle. Bumping into a Jini starts turn-based combat; defeating it grants EXP rather than a catch.
Obedience can make a catch much harder
A wild Jini above your current Obedience Level has a lower capture chance. RocoKingdomTools’ beginner guidance says that when a Jini is more than 10 levels above your Obedience Level, an overworld capture is blocked and you must battle it. Raise your Roco through the story, handbook activities, and exams before spending time on high-level targets; a powerful catch is not much help if it is difficult to command.
A nearby Alpha can also reduce capture odds, according to the tools guide. Since exact global odds are unpublished, treat stealth, distance, Health, pod matching, and Obedience as ways to improve your chances—not as guarantees.
Which Buddy Pod should I use?
Start with the ordinary pods for routine catches, match class-specific pods to suitable wild Jinies, and reserve Prism and King’s Pods for high-priority targets. Morefun’s Gameplay Overview explains the basic class matches and says that a Jini caught with a Prism Pod becomes Prismatic.

The tools guide also lists six class-pair Condition Pods: Charmed for Charm/Common, Berserker for Fighting/Dragon, Darkstar for Shadow/Havoc, Insulated for Electro/Poison, Dune for Earth/Bug, and Shift for Stellar/Mech. Their recipes drop from wild Alphas. On a mismatched class, the guide says they behave like Advanced Pods. Check the current beta tooltip before spending a specialized pod, because balance and item details can change.

Community videos have made claims about special orange or shiny-looking pods guaranteeing excellent stats, but the available official material does not establish that as a rule. Confirm what an item actually does in its in-game description before using it.
Which starter should I pick: Sparka, Meevy, or Cerulla?
All three starters are viable; pick the combat style you want to use. The in-game tutorial says the starters have their own traits and that unchosen Jinies may show up later in the adventure or near Owlstone Nests in other Rocos’ worlds.

The comparison figures above are the final-form snapshots listed in RocoKingdomTools’ global beginner guide, updated 26 October 2026; they are not a recommendation to wait for a particular final evolution before playing. In that guide, Cerulla’s line ends with the highest total, Meevy’s with the highest Magic Defense, and Sparka’s with the highest Speed.
Do not confuse these global English names with Chinese-server guides. Fan guides may call the same lines Miaomiao, Huohua, and Shuilan or Shuilanlan; Huohua refers to Sparka. If a video’s menu names do not match the global beta, it may be explaining the Chinese build rather than your current interface.
How should I train Jinies without wasting resources?
Train a compact core first—usually Dimo and your starter—rather than dividing EXP, healing items, and coins among every catch. You can bring six Jinies in the walking lineup; additional catches go to the Jini Box. RocoKingdomTools recommends keeping three lineups and swapping whole teams to prepare for different encounters.
Respect the early level and battle limits
The tools guide says Jinies stop at level 20 until you pass the first Advancement Exam, which requires Magic Level 20. If your Jini reaches that ceiling, more grinding will not raise its level until you meet the exam requirement. The exact exam path is part of the current beta progression, so follow the Magic Academy prompts rather than farming endlessly at the cap.

Choose a lead that can handle likely matchups and bring alternatives with different classes; a mid-fight swap is not a free way to erase a bad opening.
Energy also does not recover automatically after battle. The tutorial advises being strategic, and says you can rest in battle or use a Healing Potion. Avoid spending every skill’s Energy on easy fights if a tougher encounter is likely. Manaboughs restore HP and Vitality, so use them as recovery points during exploration.

Use catches and exploration as part of progression
Every wild capture grants Starlight, which condenses into Wishing Stars at the Stardial. Manabough reviews of captures pay Roco Coins, including a rare-Jini bonus. Capturing is therefore useful for more than filling the collection: it feeds early progression and gives you a broader set of matchup options.
Global beginner guidance emphasizes story progress, Outdoor Duels, catches, and the Advancement Exam. A Chinese-server FAQ attributes EXP to quests, handbook courses, new dex entries, dungeons, and bosses, including an 800 XP figure for dex registration; that number is not confirmed for the global beta and should not be treated as a global reward rate.
Why keep duplicates?
Jinies vary in talents, personality, size, weight, colour, and specialties. Personality can shift physical or magic attack; the official example contrasts a stubborn and a cheerful Bluffa. An official gameplay video also illustrates how personality can affect appearance and bonuses such as Speed, Physical Attack, or Magic Attack. Some specialties are practical rather than combat-focused: Shared Ride lets two Rocos ride one Jini, while Sharer provides bonus drops.
Those differences make a duplicate potentially useful for a different role or specialty. For the story, prioritize usable skills, mixed classes, and a team you enjoy; the community guides reserve close attention to individual values and personalities for later or ranked play.
When should I evolve or pursue advanced forms?
The global tools guide lists the starter evolution levels as 16 and 32 for Meevy’s line, and 16 and 36 for Cerulla’s and Sparka’s. The Chinese-server guide generalizes a first evolution around level 16 and a second around 32, with exceptions for stones, locations, or time; use the global beta’s own menus for your actual requirements.
Alpha Form is a separate official progression path, not a colour variant. IGN’s Morefun-presented article describes obtaining Alpha Bloodline by hatching eggs from Alpha Battles or using an Alpha Bloodline Elixir, then spending the matching Alpha Token and Evolution Power. Community beginner guidance also describes Bloodline as relevant to some evolutions, elemental moves, and Power Surge, with Mega as a power spike and Power Surge as a specialist ability. Because these systems use rarer items and beta menus may change, they are not a first-hour priority.
How do I build a balanced team around Dimo?
Build around coverage, not six copies of your starter’s class. Steam’s Morefun listing describes an 18-class counter system and PvP with equalized Jini levels; its design pitch is that matchups and skill traits matter more than simply raising levels.
A practical early six can include one primary attacker, one sturdier Jini to absorb pressure, several alternatives with different classes and move coverage, and a travel Jini when you find one. A support option for healing, buffs, or debuffs can round out the group. Avoid giving the entire team the same weakness, and save three lineups so one difficult matchup does not force you to rebuild from scratch.

Keep Dimo in your trained core
Dimo is the Light-class companion you receive at the start. On the fan type chart, Light is effective against Shadow and Havoc and weak to Flora and Ice, making Dimo useful coverage rather than a complete answer to every encounter. A Chinese-server veteran recommends Dimo for much of PvE, but that is an opinion from the CN build; the global tools guide also treats Dimo as a core companion alongside your starter.
The official site lists Dimo at 0.54–0.78 m and 5.5–7 kg, and identifies it as Light class. Those size and weight ranges underline the game’s individual variation; they do not determine a universal team role.
How do the 18 classes work?
Use the names shown in your global English build, and remember that a class advantage can belong to the skill rather than only the Jini’s own class. A fan-compiled chart based on Chinese wiki data says a skill deals 2× damage to a class it beats and 0.5× to one that resists it; a dual advantage can reach 3×. Those multipliers are community-chart figures, not an official full global chart. The chart maintainer notes that some English labels remain community names.

The 18 class names listed in the fan chart are Common, Flora, Fire, Water, Light, Earth, Ice, Dragon, Electro, Poison, Bug, Fighting, Wing, Charm, Shadow, Havoc, Mech, and Stellar. Treat the chart as a learning aid and inspect skill descriptions in the current build, especially for dual-class enemies. In double advantage cases the fan chart lists 3× damage; two resistances can reduce it to 0.25×, while one advantage and one resistance cancel to 1×.
Make room for exploration abilities
Some elements help open chests or reveal exploration objects, while mounts let you swim, ride, or glide, according to Pocket Gamer’s account of the game. Put a useful traversal Jini in your six when you acquire one rather than leaving every travel tool in the box. Global community videos point to early flying options, but spawn timing and available names can vary by build.

These are distinct appearance or collection categories, not one interchangeable rarity ladder. Chromatic is a different colour scheme, Prismatic has a gradient or glitter look associated with a successful Prism Pod capture, and Nightmare-corrupted is a listed appearance family. Alpha Form is a power form, not a palette.
Chinese-server community pages discuss separate labels such as Shiny and Radiant, plus an 80-encounter pity claim and a 1.8% rate that the page itself flags as unverified. Those routes and numbers are not established rules for the global beta; do not spend global resources based on CN Season 3 hunt math. For a global beginner, save Prism Pods for a Jini you want in that appearance and check current in-game descriptions for what each marked variant means.
What is available in the Quack Quack Test?
The global Quack Quack closed beta began on 27 October 2026. IGN Global Studios’ Morefun-presented article says there are 212 unique Jinies in the test, while Morefun’s Steam listing and official site advertise more than 400 for the living open world at full scale. These figures describe different scopes: the beta roster is not the promised full-game roster.

Steam lists the PC app as Coming soon, not available for download. The official site says test access is rolling out gradually and asks selected players to watch their inbox; pre-registration remains open for a chance at access, but is not a guaranteed key. Current beta install routes listed by the fan catching guide are the official PC launcher, a Google Play test listing, and iOS TestFlight. Although PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam, Epic Games, iOS, and Google Play have been announced, an announced platform is not necessarily a current beta download route.
For PC, Steam lists a minimum of 64-bit Windows 10, an Intel Core i5-7500 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400, and 16 GB RAM. Its recommended configuration lists Windows 10 or newer, an Intel i7-9700 or Ryzen 5 3600X or better, and 16 GB RAM. Easy Anti-Cheat is required on PC. The full global launch is not dated on Steam; Pocket Gamer reported an early-to-mid-2027 window after a media briefing, so treat that as a reported window rather than a confirmed launch date. Whether beta progress carries into launch has not been confirmed.

Morefun’s Steam copy says PvP levels are equalized and describes the game as “zero paywalls.” Pocket Gamer reported that developers said microtransactions would be cosmetic-only and Jinies obtainable through gameplay. These are store and press-briefing statements during the beta, not a live audit of a finished global cash shop.
For official updates and access information, check the Roco Kingdom official site and your Level Infinite inbox rather than assuming Steam will offer a beta download.
What mistakes should a new player avoid?
- Do not spread training resources across every Jini you catch. Build Dimo and one or two mains, then add role and class coverage.
- Do not rely on a catch being easy just because you found it. Check Obedience; a Jini more than 10 levels above it cannot be caught in the overworld according to the tools guide.
- Do not use Prism or King’s Pods on an ordinary target by habit. Their described functions make them more valuable for a keeper or an urgent capture.
- Do not build a team of six from one class. A resistant opponent can turn that choice into a wall.
- Do not assume Energy refills between fights. Use skills deliberately and recover at a Manabough or with appropriate items.
- Do not treat Chinese-server guides as a translation of the global interface. Names, item terminology, progression details, and hunt claims can differ.
- Do not assume CBT progress, Jinies, or purchases will transfer to launch; no such carryover has been confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can my Roco Kingdom beta progress carry over to launch?
Carryover has not been confirmed. Treat the closed beta as a test rather than a promise that Jinies, progress, or purchases will remain on a launch account.

Morefun’s store language and a Pocket Gamer media-briefing report describe cosmetics-only microtransactions and creatures obtainable through gameplay. Those statements do not establish the contents of a finished global cash shop, so check the live terms when a full release is available.
Can I play Roco Kingdom with friends?
The game’s Steam description advertises co-op, including holding hands to share gathering rewards and battle EXP, and to make catches easier. IGN’s Morefun-presented coverage says up to four players can team up at Blossoms.
Will Roco Kingdom be on PlayStation, Xbox, or mobile?
Morefun’s announced platforms include PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam, Epic Games, iOS, and Google Play. Platform announcements do not mean every version is currently downloadable in the closed beta.
