Yes—Roco Kingdom is being presented as a free-to-play game, but its global version has not launched yet. Steam lists it as Free To Play with in-app purchases and a Coming soon status. The current global Quack Quack Test, which began on October 27, 2026, has no in-game purchases at all. For the intended release, Morefun Studios says monetization will focus on optional cosmetics and battle passes, with randomized gacha and pay-to-win systems excluded. How is the planned free-to-play model supposed to work?
The developer’s stated model is cosmetic- and battle-pass-led. In an October 26, 2026 interview with Inven Global, the Morefun Studios development team said: “Accordingly, our main business model relies solely on cosmetics and battle passes.” The wording sets out the intended revenue categories, while the store listing confirms that in-app purchases are part of the planned release.
Cosmetics are items that alter a character, Genie, home, or other visual presentation without being sold as combat strength. A battle pass is a time-limited progression track that can contain seasonal cosmetics, resources, and potentially a special Genie. The exact reward tracks, premium-tier price, season length, and regional taxes have not been published for the global version.
The developer also says randomized gacha and pay-to-win elements are excluded. In practical terms, that means the stated design does not involve paying for random rolls whose results determine access to the strongest creatures, nor does it intend to sell direct combat advantages. Those are developer commitments for the intended model, not an independent audit of a final economy.
Do you have to spend money to catch Genies?
No evidence currently indicates that payment is required for the core Genie-collecting loop. For the global CBT, the developer says players can catch more than 210 Genie types for free, including two legendary Genies. Cosmetics are the clearest planned purchase category. The published examples include outfits and other appearance items. They are intended to let players personalize characters or possessions without changing the underlying combat rules.
The developer has also said that cosmetics may first be sold for real money and later appear in the in-game shop for currency earned through social play. Battle passes
Battle passes are seasonal reward tracks. The developer says a pass may include a special Genie as well as seasonal rewards, but the global version’s price, reward quantity, progression requirements, and season duration are not confirmed.
