The clearest recent example is Walmart’s GeForce Week promotion: a CyberPowerPC RTX 5070 system was advertised at $1,549 from September 21–27, then the event ended. Treat that price as historical, not as an offer you can still buy.
For a current purchase, verify the exact system and checkout price, then compare its full configuration—not just its GPU or crossed-out former price—with equivalent desktops.

What RTX 50 desktop deals have been advertised?
Retail listings show prebuilt desktops with GeForce RTX 50 graphics, including RTX 5070 and RTX 5080 systems. NVIDIA Marketplace also lists systems with RTX 5090 graphics. These pages establish that the category is available; their inventory, prices and stock can change, and a listing alone does not make a configuration a good deal.
NVIDIA Marketplace RTX 50 gaming desktops and Best Buy’s RTX 5070 and RTX 5080 desktop results are useful starting points for finding candidates, not price guarantees.

Walmart’s ended GeForce Week promotion
Walmart’s GeForce Week page gave the event dates as September 21–27, 2026. It advertised a CyberPowerPC desktop with an Intel Core i7-14700KF, RTX 5070 12GB Founders Edition, 32GB DDR5 and a 1TB SSD for $1,549, with $2,139.99 shown as the former price. The difference is $590.99 against that displayed former price; it does not establish the system’s typical market value. The promotion had ended by October 4. See Walmart’s GeForce Week page for the dated campaign.
Other advertised savings are not confirmed current deals
A Best Buy sale-filtered search page surfaced RTX 5080 desktop results with sale labels and savings claims of up to $950. That search result does not show that every RTX 50 desktop qualifies or that the reference price is a like-for-like comparison. Check the individual product page, seller, availability and checkout total before treating a result as a deal. Best Buy’s sale-filtered RTX 5080 desktop search is a discovery page, not a verified comparison.

On June 23, 2026, STORMCRAFT PC announced selected RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 prebuilt promotions through Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg and its own store, claiming “up to $1,100 in savings.” That dated vendor promotion does not establish an October offer or independently verify the savings. Details are in the June 23 STORMCRAFT PC announcement distributed by PR Newswire.
How to judge whether a desktop is a real bargain
Compare complete systems with similar components and terms. A lower sticker price can come with a different CPU, less memory or storage, weaker cooling, or less favorable support. Check these details on the exact listing:

- POWERHOUSE 8-CORE GAMING PERFORMANCE — Driven by the AMD Ryzen 7 8700F with 8 cores and 16 threads, boosting up to 5.0 GHz for smooth, responsive gameplay and the ability to handle AAA titles, streaming, and background tasks all at once
- NEXT-GEN BLACKWELL ARCHITECTURE — The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 is powered by NVIDIA's cutting-edge Blackwell GPU architecture, delivering a massive generational leap in rasterization and ray tracing performance so you can experience your games the way they were meant to be played.
- Simplistic Design: Enjoy the latest generation of Windows 11 Home for your everyday needs. *MSI recommends Windows 11 Pro for business use.
- Cool While Gaming: In conjunction with an ARGB fan Air Cooler, the Codex R2 features four system cooling fans; three in the front and one in the rear to pull in cool air and push heat out of the PC.
- Turn on the Bright Lights: With the built-in RGB lighting, take your gaming experience to the next level by pressing the MSI LED button to cycle through lighting options. Customize lighting even further with MSI Center software.
- GPU: Confirm the precise desktop RTX 50 model and memory configuration. Do not confuse a desktop GPU with a laptop GPU.
- CPU: Compare the exact model and generation. Two PCs with the same graphics card can differ substantially elsewhere.
- Memory and storage: Check RAM capacity and speed when stated, SSD capacity, and whether upgrades are accessible.
- Cooling and case: Look for the cooling type, airflow information and chassis dimensions. An RGB product photo does not establish cooling quality.
- Total cost: Use the current checkout price, adding shipping and applicable tax. Assess any bundle separately and compare the actual configuration with equivalent systems.
- Seller and support: Identify who sells the PC, confirm stock, and read the warranty and return terms—especially on marketplace listings.
For example, a “save” amount based on a former price is not enough to show value. Check whether another retailer currently sells a comparable GPU, CPU, memory and storage configuration for less, and whether the advertised system is actually in stock.

PC Gamer’s October 1, 2026 price watch covers graphics cards, including RTX 5070 and RTX 5080 listings. Those component prices are not prices for complete gaming PCs and cannot be used to calculate a comparable desktop discount. The roundup also characterizes RTX 50 card prices as high relative to launch pricing; that context is about graphics cards, not a measured desktop-market discount. What RTX 50 features do—and don’t—tell you
NVIDIA promotes RTX 50 platform features including DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, NVIDIA Reflex and ray tracing on its GeForce holiday deals page. Those are feature descriptions, not independent benchmarks of a particular desktop. To compare gaming performance between two specific builds, look for testing of those exact configurations rather than inferring results from the GPU name alone.
