Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallIf you’re asking “What class do I choose?” in Rune Slayer, start with the combat loop you want: pick Archer to fight at long range, Priest to support and heal allies, Magician for offensive staff magic, or one of the four melee classes for close combat. There is no established universal best class. The community-wiki pages describe seven base classes, each with its own weapon identity and level-30 subclass path, but their details can lag game updates.
How to choose a Rune Slayer class
Choose by the distance and rhythm you enjoy, then factor in weapon feel and group role. The class descriptions below come from community-maintained Rune Slayer Wiki pages, not independently tested or official developer guidance. The roster source lists seven base classes; an older result lists six and omits Samurai, so treat class details as subject to change.
| Class | Combat range and weapon | Role or rhythm | Subclass path at level 30 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Melee; sword, with shield access | Adaptable offense and defense | Sword Master, Knight, or Berserker |
| Archer | Long range; bow | Ranged pressure and marked or clustered targets | Sharpshooter or Beast Tamer |
| Thief | Melee; daggers | Quick attacks, positioning, and burst windows | Assassin or Ninja |
| Striker | Close range; fists and gauntlet-type weapons | Aggressive melee with defensive timing | Asura or Monk |
| Magician | Staff-based magic | Offensive spells and magic damage | Warlock or Sorcerer |
| Priest | Staff-based magic at range | Healing, ally support, and holy damage | Cleric |
| Samurai | Melee; katana | Swift combat, described as sustained damage | Orochi |
The level-30 branches are listed by the community wiki as progressions unlocked after reaching level 30 in the chosen class. Weapon access and weapon-stat relationships are also documented on the wiki’s Weapons page. [Classes; Weapons]
What each class does
Warrior: adaptable melee with defensive options
Warrior is built around sword combat, with strength and stamina growth, heavy armor, and access to a shield. Its listed skills include Slashing Strike, Charge, and a Counter stance. Battle Aura branches are described around damage, speed, or defense, giving the class several ways to shape its melee approach. Choose it if you want to fight up close with both offensive tools and defensive options; the available descriptions do not establish it as the easiest or strongest class. [Rune Slayer Wiki: Warrior]

Thief: mobility and quick damage windows
Thief fights with daggers and is described as quick-attacking, with agility, stamina, and strength growth and medium armor. Its listed abilities include Piercing Strike, Weapon Throw, Liver Shot, Ambush, and Deathmark. Passives include backstab damage, bleed on critical hits, and double jump. These tools point toward a playstyle built on positioning and quick attacks rather than sustained pressure; the page lists Assassin and Ninja as its subclasses. [Rune Slayer Wiki: Thief]

Limit Breaker trades health for attack and movement speed, so using that skill involves a real health cost rather than a free boost. The combination of aggressive attacks and defensive timing fits players who want a close-range, active melee kit. Its listed subclasses are Asura and Monk. [Rune Slayer Wiki: Striker]
Magician: offensive staff magic
Magician uses a staff and magic, with intellect and spirit growth and light armor listed on its page. Its named skills include Magic Arrow, Arcane Armor, mana-support abilities, Overload, and Arcane Storm. It is the clearest fit for players who want magic-centered damage and a varied spell kit. Priest: healing and group support
Priest is a staff-based magic class focused on ally buffs and healing, with holy damage against enemies. Its listed skills include Holy Light, Holy Shield, Dispell, Holy Fire, Flash Heal, and resurrection; Cleric is its listed subclass. Pick Priest if enabling allies and healing at range is more appealing than focusing mainly on personal damage. The community page recommends keeping distance because of low health and armor, but that is wiki advice rather than independently verified strategy. [Rune Slayer Wiki: Priest]
Samurai: swift katana combat
Samurai fights with a katana and is described as a swift melee class with medium armor. Its page characterizes its damage as more sustained than Thief’s burst damage; treat that as the wiki’s qualitative distinction, not a verified class ranking. Orochi is its listed subclass. Skills and subclass decisions
The named abilities above indicate the kind of tools each class is documented with, but they should not be read as a verified current balance comparison. Class pages list skill names and unlock levels, yet their current accuracy is not officially confirmed. Avoid choosing from numerical ability values or assuming one listed skill makes a class categorically stronger.
At level 30, the listed subclass branches let you narrow the direction of your chosen class. The available information does not establish comparable current PvE or PvP rankings, beginner win rates, or build performance, so pick the base class for its combat loop rather than a supposed universal tier list. Be cautious when mixing class paths
The Classes page describes multiclassing but warns that adding another class does not transfer that class’s stat scaling or armor access. Its examples say taking Thief does not grant Thief’s agility scaling, and taking Warrior does not grant heavy armor. In other words, access to a class path is not the same as inheriting its full build advantages; do not plan a hybrid around those assumptions. [Rune Slayer Wiki: Classes]
