Its RTX 3000-series graphics fix is specific: the notes say it addresses performance drops when FSR frame generation is enabled. The update also marks what GSC calls the first iteration of its A-Life fixes, covering NPC encounters, visibility, offline behavior and navigation.
What does patch 1.1 fix on RTX 30-series GPUs?
GSC’s patch notes say: “Fixed performance drops on NVIDIA RTX 3000 series video cards with enabled FSR frame generation.” That wording identifies both the affected GPU family and the condition: FSR frame generation must be enabled. It is not a general promise of better performance on every RTX 30-series card, nor does it claim to fix every performance problem on those GPUs.
The note does not name a specific RTX 3000 model, driver version or settings combination, and it reports no benchmark or performance gain. It describes a software fix; it does not say players need to buy a new graphics card. Read GSC’s patch 1.1 notes.
What changed in A-Life?
GSC calls the A-Life work the “first iteration” of fixes. The notes describe changes intended to make NPC activity and movement across the Zone work differently:
#1 Best Overall
- Chipset: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
- Video Memory: 12GB GDDR6
- Memory Interface: 192-bit
- Output: DisplayPort x 3 (v1.4a) / HDMI 2.1 x 1.Avoid using unofficial software
- Digital maximum resolution: 7680 x 4320
- NPCs should no longer spawn behind the player’s back.
- Roaming NPC encounters should happen more often across the Zone, and A-Life NPCs should be visible from a greatly extended distance.
- NPCs operating offline should continue advancing toward their goals over time.
- Offline navigation using GameGraph was improved, with fixes for pathfinding and NPCs getting stuck during online/offline transitions.
- NPC groups were given greater motivation to expand territory and attack enemies and mutants, with more variation in group size and faction.
These are the changes GSC lists, not independent measurements or proof that every A-Life issue was resolved.
