Patch 1.1 was a broad maintenance update for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, not just an A-Life or AI patch. GSC Game World described it as containing “over 1,800 fixes and adjustments,” spanning NPC behavior, performance, crashes, balance, cutscenes, audio, localization and world assets. That count is the developer’s reported total, not an independently audited number of bugs or a measure of how many issues every player encountered.
The official support page displays March 10, 2025 as its date, so Patch 1.1 is historical—not a newly released update. Later official notices include Patch 2.0.5 and Patch 2.0.6 in September 2026. Read GSC’s Patch 1.1 notes and check the official Steam announcements for later updates and platform-specific availability.

What did S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Patch 1.1 fix?
GSC’s announcement grouped the changes across several parts of the game. The patch addressed moment-to-moment AI and combat as well as technical stability and presentation, making it a wide-ranging update rather than a single-system overhaul.
- A-Life and NPC behavior: Changes addressed NPC spawning, roaming encounters and visibility distance. NPCs could continue progressing toward goals outside the player’s visualization range, while offline navigation, territory expansion, encounters and group diversity also received fixes.
- AI and combat: The notes list corrections to NPC and mutant pathfinding, use of cover, detection while crouched, animations and movement. GSC also reported fixing more than 50 additional minor AI anomalies.
- Balance: Adjustments covered mission rewards, enemy abilities, artifact effects and weapon damage. The notes also describe changes to radiation-related death behavior and coupon-related exploits.
- Performance and stability: The update targeted performance in populated areas and addressed issues affecting particular hardware or situations. GSC reported that more than 200 crashes had been investigated and further fixes implemented.
- Cutscenes, sound and localization: The notes include animation, voiceover, missing-frame, subtitle, NPC-visibility and haptic-feedback corrections, plus localization and voiceover updates and audio adjustments.
- World presentation and assets: GSC reported more than 500 fixes across areas including foliage, texture flickering, navigation meshes, collisions, object positioning, contextual actions and visual effects.
The developer also counted more than 15 localization and voiceover updates, more than 40 audio adjustments, and more than 20 character and NPC visual improvements. These are GSC’s stated totals, not independently verified counts.

Did Patch 1.1 improve A-Life?
It introduced the first iteration of A-Life fixes, according to GSC. The changes aimed to make roaming encounters more frequent and visible and to let NPCs continue moving toward their goals when outside the player’s visualization range. Navigation, territory expansion and group behavior were also part of the listed work.
“First iteration” matters: the announcement describes an initial set of fixes, not a claim that A-Life was finished or that every player would see the same change in every location. The patch notes establish what GSC changed; they do not quantify a universal before-and-after improvement.

What performance and crash fixes were included?
Patch 1.1 addressed several specific performance and stability problems rather than promising a uniform boost on every platform or PC configuration. GSC listed a performance-drop fix for NVIDIA RTX 3000-series cards when FSR frame generation was enabled. It also addressed frame-rate drops associated with water particles and with interacting with corpses in shallow water.
The crash total—more than 200 investigated—describes GSC’s work on crash reports, not a guarantee that all crashes were eliminated. The notes also include fixes for GPU and controller issues, some of which applied to particular configurations.

How does Patch 1.1 compare with later updates?
Later announcements show that development continued after Patch 1.1. The official Steam archive lists Patch 2.0.5 as a release with over 200 fixes and Patch 2.0.6 as a minor crash-fix update. The archive identifies 2.0.6 as including several backported AMD GPU crash fixes and other high-priority crash fixes. These later changes should not be attributed to Patch 1.1.
| Update | What the official notice says | How to read the count or scope |
|---|---|---|
| Patch 1.1 (support page displays March 10, 2025) | Over 1,800 fixes and adjustments, including the first iteration of A-Life fixes. | Developer-reported total across a broad range of game systems. |
| Patch 2.0.5 (September 10, 2026, according to the official Steam archive) | Over 200 fixes, with examples involving controller-stick sensitivity, NPC behavior in weather, A-Life and encounters, missions, visuals and animation. | Developer-reported total for this later update; its listed examples are not Patch 1.1 changes. |
| Patch 2.0.6 (official Steam archive, September 2026) | A minor crash-fix update, including several backported AMD GPU crash fixes and other high-priority crash fixes. | The notice characterizes its scope as crash fixes; it does not give a comparable total. |

What should you do if an update causes problems with mods?
In its Patch 2.0.6 notice, the publisher recommends disabling mods if performance or stability problems appear after an update. This is targeted troubleshooting advice, not a statement that all mods are incompatible.
