For an early benchmark, OG Kush → Banana → Cuke → Banana has been reported at a sale value of $80, while Sour Diesel → Cuke → Flu Medicine → Mega Bean has been reported at $81.
Those figures are gross sale values from guide benchmarks, not guaranteed profit. Schedule I is still Early Access, and recipe outcomes, prices, ingredient costs, and optimal sequences can change with patches, save settings, and seeded mixing. What mixing does in Schedule I
Mixing lets you transform an unpackaged base product by applying ingredients in sequence. Each ingredient can add an effect or transform an effect that is already present. The finished product can then have a higher sale value, a different effect profile, or a better match for a particular customer preference.

The system is closer to an effect-combination puzzle than to a conventional crafting recipe. The important details are:
#1 Best Overall
- 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: Supports 5 units (oz/lb:oz/fl'oz/g/mL), tare function, and includes 2 AAA batteries for hassle-free operation
- 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀: Accurately weighs up to 11 lb/5 kg with 1 g increments
- 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 & 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: The small and sleek scale is a perfect fit for most kitchens, occupying little space and easily storable in cabinets
- 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻: Just wipe down the 304 food-grade stainless steel surfaces to keep clean
- 𝗟𝗖𝗗 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆: Backlit LCD screen with large fonts for easy reading
- Ingredients are applied one at a time. You do not place every ingredient into the station simultaneously.
- Order matters. An ingredient may transform an effect created by an earlier ingredient, so changing the sequence can produce a different result.
- Repeated ingredients count as repeated operations. Banana → Cuke → Banana requires Banana to be applied, accepted, and then applied again after Cuke.
- A product can hold up to eight effects. Once the effect limit is reached, additional ingredients may not produce the result you expected.
- Sale value is not the same as profit. Ingredient costs, production time, and any other operating costs matter when comparing recipes.
Schedule I entered Early Access on March 24, 2025. The Steam listing describes it as a simulation and strategy game under continuing development, with a stated Early Access target of Q4 2027. That means a recipe described as the best can become outdated after a balance or mixing-system update.
How to unlock the Mixing Station
- Progress until you reach the Hoodlum 1 rank, or follow the Mixing Mania questline.
- Visit Dan’s Hardware.
- Buy the Mixing Table for $500.
- Use the table as your Mixing Station for sequential product transformations.
Guides may call the object the Mixing Station or the Mixing Table. In the reported unlock route, the progression feature is referred to as the Mixing Station, while the item purchased from Dan’s Hardware is called the Mixing Table.
If the table is not available, check both your rank and quest progress before assuming the recipe is broken. Later production equipment, including Mixing Station Mk II-related mechanics, has also been introduced or adjusted during Early Access updates, so the station available in your save may not behave exactly like one shown in an older video.
The one-ingredient-at-a-time mixing rule
Every recipe is an ordered chain:
- Start with the specified unpackaged base product.
- Place it into the Mixing Station.
- Add the first ingredient.
- Accept the result.
- Use that newly mixed product as the input for the next operation.
- Continue until every ingredient in the sequence has been applied.
For example, the OG Kush benchmark below is not a two-ingredient recipe. It is three separate operations:
- OG Kush + Banana → accept the result.
- Result from step one + Cuke → accept the result.
- Result from step two + Banana → final product.
The second Banana is therefore not optional, and it is not applied at the same time as the first one. This distinction is one of the most common causes of failed or apparently incorrect recipes.
Why ingredient order matters
Schedule1 Tools describes mixing as an effect-based system. An ingredient may contribute its own effect, transform one or more existing effects, or add its default effect if there is still room in the product’s effect list. Because those actions occur in sequence, the same ingredients in a different order can produce a different product.
Think of a recipe as a set of instructions rather than a shopping list:

Best early-game mixing recipes
The following recipes are useful low-cost benchmarks reported by PC Gamer for players who have recently unlocked mixing. The sale values are source-reported examples, not universal current prices. The source material supplied for these benchmarks does not provide a complete effect-name list or ingredient-cost breakdown for every recipe, so the effect and profit columns deliberately avoid inventing missing data.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors| Base product or strain | Ingredient sequence, in order | Resulting effects | Reported sale value | Ingredient cost or estimated profit | Unlock/progression caveat | Version or seed caveat |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| OG Kush | Banana → Cuke → Banana |
Reported as a four-effect result; verify the effect names in your save or a current calculator. | $80 | Not reported in the benchmark. Net ingredient profit is $80 − 2×Banana cost − Cuke cost. |
Requires access to the first Mixing Station and the listed ingredients. | Older guide benchmark; verify after patches and check seeded-mixing settings. |
| Green Crack | Viagor → Horse Semen |
Check the completed product for the current effect combination. | $77 | Not reported. A higher sale value may still mean lower profit if these ingredients are expensive. | Ingredient availability and rank requirements can vary with progression. | Guide benchmark, not a guaranteed current value. |
| Green Crack | Gasoline → Viagor |
Check the completed product for the current effect combination. | $65 | Not reported. Compare its total ingredient cost with the $77 Green Crack example. | Requires the relevant ingredients to be available in the save. | Guide benchmark; confirm the result in the current version. |
| Sour Diesel | Cuke → Flu Medicine → Banana |
Check the completed product for the current effect combination. | $71 | Not reported. Calculate $71 − Cuke cost − Flu Medicine cost − Banana cost. |
Use only after the base product and all three ingredients are unlocked. | Guide benchmark; values may move after updates. |
| Sour Diesel | Cuke → Flu Medicine → Mega Bean |
Check the completed product for the current effect combination. | $81 | Not reported. Mega Bean may change the net result even though this benchmark has the highest gross value in the table. | Requires access to Mega Bean as well as the Mixing Station. | Guide benchmark; verify with your version, settings, and local ingredient prices. |
What can be concluded from these examples? Among the listed benchmarks, Sour Diesel with Cuke → Flu Medicine → Mega Bean has the highest reported gross sale value at $81. That does not prove it is the most profitable recipe. The two Green Crack recipes may have different costs, and the cheaper OG Kush sequence could outperform a higher-priced recipe after expenses.
These examples also demonstrate why repeating an ingredient is significant. The OG Kush recipe uses Banana twice, so its cost and its effect interactions must be counted twice.
Recipes by base product: what the examples actually show
OG Kush
Banana → Cuke → Banana is the clearest early-game OG Kush benchmark in the supplied research, with a reported sale value of $80. It is attractive because the sequence is short, but its real profitability depends on the price of two Bananas and one Cuke in your save.
Green Crack
Two reported Green Crack options are available for comparison:
- Viagor → Horse Semen: reported sale value of $77.
- Gasoline → Viagor: reported sale value of $65.
The $77 result is the better gross-value benchmark, but it is not automatically the better money-maker. Compare the total ingredient bill and the time required to produce each batch.
Sour Diesel
The listed Sour Diesel alternatives are:
- Cuke → Flu Medicine → Banana: reported sale value of $71.
- Cuke → Flu Medicine → Mega Bean: reported sale value of $81.
Replacing the final Banana with Mega Bean raises the reported gross value by $10 in that guide example. Whether the replacement is worthwhile depends on Mega Bean’s current cost and availability.
Other base products
GameSpot’s April 18, 2025 guide covers a broader group of recipes involving cocaine, crystal, and original plant products, and it is useful for historical unlock context. It should not be treated as the sole authority for current prices or post-launch mechanics because it predates later changes. For a recipe not listed here, use a current calculator or community database, then test the sequence in your save.

Advanced mixing: effects, limits, and high-value chains
Once the basic station is unlocked, the goal changes from simply making a product more valuable to controlling the entire effect chain. A strong advanced recipe should answer four questions:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Which effects does the base product already have?
- Which ingredient adds the desired effect?
- Which ingredient transforms an existing effect instead of merely adding another one?
- Will the final product stay within the eight-effect limit?
PCGamesN’s March 4, 2026 update discusses advanced ingredients locked behind ranks and highlights high-value effects such as Shrinking and Zombifying. Treat those as advanced targets rather than early-game requirements: an expensive effect is only useful if the ingredients are available, the sequence works in the current version, and the resulting sale value exceeds the extra cost.
The community-maintained Schedule 1 Wiki also documents multi-step effect chains, effect optimization, profit maximization, calculator use, and chaining multiple Mixing Stations. Because that material is community-maintained rather than official patch documentation, use it as a reference and confirm its assumptions against your game version.
A practical advanced-planning method
- Choose the base product. Start with something you can produce consistently rather than a theoretical late-game chain.
- Choose the target effect profile. Consider both sale value and customer preferences.
- Use a forward calculator to test base product → ingredients, or use a reverse calculator if you are starting from desired effects.
- Inspect every step. Confirm that the calculator’s sequence does not rely on a transformation occurring before the effect exists.
- Check the eight-effect ceiling. A chain that looks valuable on paper may stop behaving as expected once the product is full.
- Calculate net profit. Subtract all ingredient costs and account for production time when comparing alternatives.
- Test one inexpensive batch before committing rare or costly ingredients.
How to calculate real profit
The displayed sale value is the amount the finished product can sell for under the relevant game conditions. It is not the same as the money you actually gain from the recipe.
At minimum, calculate:
Net ingredient profit = sale value − total ingredient cost

For production decisions, a more useful comparison is:

Time-adjusted return = net profit ÷ production time
The game and third-party tools may not expose every labor or time expense as a formal accounting line, so treat time-adjusted return as your own comparison rather than an official in-game statistic. A recipe with a higher gross value can be worse if it consumes expensive ingredients, takes longer to make, or ties up a station that could produce several cheaper profitable batches.
Use customer preferences as part of the calculation
Schedule1.app describes its companion calculator as tracking effects, price multipliers, customer preferences, and profit-oriented recipes. That makes it useful for planning beyond the largest displayed price. A slightly less valuable product may be the better choice if it uses cheaper ingredients or fits the customers you can reliably serve.
Schedule1.app and Schedule1 Tools are third-party planning aids, not official developer tools. Their data can lag behind a patch or reflect different assumptions from your save. Always compare the calculator’s ingredient prices, effect rules, and settings with the game before scaling production.
Seeded mixing and why old recipes can fail
The official v0.4.5 anniversary update, dated March 29, 2026, added a seeded mixing setting and changed several systems. This makes reproducibility an explicit version-and-settings issue.
If a recipe from an older guide produces a different effect, price, or sequence in your game, do not immediately assume that you entered it incorrectly. Check:
- your exact game version;
- whether seeded mixing is enabled;
- the calculator or guide’s update date;
- the platform and save conditions used by the source;
- current ingredient prices;
- whether the recipe assumes a particular progression rank or station upgrade; and
- whether an earlier step already filled the product’s effect capacity.
Keep a small recipe log with the base product, each ingredient in order, final effects, sale value, ingredient costs, game version, platform, and seeded-mixing setting. That turns a recipe discovery into a reproducible result instead of a screenshot that may become impossible to interpret after the next patch.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A reliable workflow for finding profitable recipes
- Confirm availability first. Make sure the base product, every ingredient, and the required station are unlocked.
- Search a current database or calculator. Schedule1 Tools explains the effect interaction rules and pricing workflow. Schedule1.app offers both forward and reverse planning, while the Schedule 1 Wiki provides community-maintained chains and optimization references.
- Write the sequence with arrows. For example:
Sour Diesel → Cuke → Flu Medicine → Mega Bean. - Count repeated ingredients. Every repeated item is another purchase and another mixing operation.
- Calculate total cost. Do not compare $81 and $77 until you know what each batch costs.
- Check the effect limit. Avoid assuming that every listed effect will survive a long chain.
- Run a low-cost test batch. This is especially important for an older recipe or a save using seeded mixing.
- Compare net profit and production time. Gross sale value is only the first filter.
- Record the result. Save the version and setting information with the recipe.
Troubleshooting: when a mixing recipe does not work
The Mixing Station is unavailable
Check whether you have reached Hoodlum 1 or started and progressed the Mixing Mania questline. Then confirm that you have purchased the $500 Mixing Table from Dan’s Hardware. If you are following an old guide, make sure it is describing the same station or upgrade available in your version.
The final effects are different
Recheck the base product and the order of operations. A recipe is not an unordered ingredient list. Make sure you accepted the result after each ingredient and used that result as the input for the next step. If the order is correct, compare your version and seeded-mixing setting with the source.

The result sells for less than the guide says
The guide’s figure may be a historical gross sale value. Compare the game version, effect result, customer conditions, ingredient costs, and any relevant settings. A different sale value does not necessarily mean the recipe failed; it may mean the guide and your save are operating under different conditions.
The recipe is profitable on paper but loses money
Subtract every ingredient cost, including repeated ingredients. Then consider production time and whether the station could have produced a cheaper, faster batch. If a calculator ranks a recipe by sale value rather than net profit, use its result as a lead, not a final answer.
An advanced chain stops adding useful effects
Inspect the product after each stage. Schedule1 Tools reports an eight-effect ceiling. Once the product reaches that limit, an ingredient’s expected default effect may not be added, and a transformation may behave differently from what you expected. Shorten the chain or change the order after confirming the interaction in a current calculator and a test batch.

Which sources should you trust?
Use the official Steam listing and announcement archive for Early Access status and patch information. Use current calculators such as Schedule1 Tools and Schedule1.app for effect planning, but remember that both are third-party resources. Use community wiki pages for broader chains and ideas, while treating them as references rather than official patch notes.
GameSpot’s April 18, 2025 guide is useful for historical recipe and unlock coverage. PC Gamer supplies the early-game benchmarks listed in this article. PCGamesN’s March 4, 2026 update is useful for later progression and advanced effect discussions. None of those guides should override what your current save actually reports.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to follow the ingredient order in a Schedule I recipe?
Yes. Mixing is sequential, and ingredients can transform effects created by earlier steps. Apply each ingredient in the listed order, accepting the result before moving to the next one.
Can I use the same ingredient more than once?
Yes, but each use is a separate mixing operation. Banana → Cuke → Banana requires two Bananas and three total applications; it is not the same as using Banana once.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Is the listed sale value the same as profit?
No. Sale value is gross revenue. Subtract the cost of every ingredient, including repeats, and consider production time when comparing recipes.
How many effects can one mixed product hold?
Schedule1 Tools reports a maximum of eight effects. A long chain can therefore fail to add an expected effect once the product reaches the limit.
Why does a calculator recipe differ from my result?
Check the base product, ingredient order, game version, seeded-mixing setting, station upgrade, ingredient availability, and effect count. Third-party calculators and older guides may use data that no longer matches your save.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Start with the listed early benchmarks, but do not call any recipe universally best from its sale price alone. Unlock the table, follow the sequence one operation at a time, calculate net ingredient profit, and record your version and seeded-mixing setting. In an Early Access game, the most reliable recipe is the one you have recently verified in your own save.
