Shadow of Backrooms is an upcoming first-person horror adventure from solo developer and publisher Panuzi. Its Steam listing currently targets a 2027 release and says the game is “Coming Soon To Early Access,” but no exact Early Access day or month has been announced. The planned game combines exploration of liminal rooms, puzzle solving, secrets and encounters with hostile entities. You can play alone or with up to four players through Steam lobbies. Steam labels it “Coming Soon To Early Access.” No confirmed Early Access day or month has been published. A report dated October 2, 2026 also described a 2027 launch without a specific Early Access date, so claims of a precise launch day are unsupported.

How does the co-op format affect play?
The four-player limit makes the game suitable for a small, coordinated group rather than a large lobby. After arriving in the Backrooms, the character searches for the truth and investigates what happened to their family.
