If you mean the first trip to Dock Town or Treviso after the Crossroads opens, either order is safe: you will visit both. Treviso first gets Lucanis into your party sooner, so it is a handy pacing choice—not a major branching decision. Later, after A Warden’s Best Friend, you must choose which city to defend. That choice has lasting consequences, so finish the side content you care about in both cities before recruiting Davrin.
Early visit order: either city works
During Into the Crossroads, you can pursue Sea of Blood in Treviso or The Smuggled Relic Case in Dock Town. The order does not prevent you from visiting the other city or create the later defense choice. GamesRadar+ recommends Treviso first because it lets you recruit Lucanis sooner; choose Dock Town first if that better suits your preferred pacing. The later choice is the consequential one
After A Warden’s Best Friend, Rook must respond to simultaneous dragon attacks by defending either Minrathous, represented by Dock Town, or Treviso. The game pushes you into this decision after recruiting Davrin, before you return to the Lighthouse to debrief. The city you leave exposed suffers, and desired side activities there can fail or become unavailable. Complete the quests and activities you care about in both cities before finishing that mission. - Prioritizing the Shadow Dragons: defending Minrathous produces the smaller reported Shadow Dragons strength penalty: −100, compared with −250 if you defend Treviso.
- Planning Lucanis’s romance: GamesRadar+ reports that defending Minrathous locks out his romance. If that matters to your playthrough, account for it before choosing.
- Prioritizing Treviso or the Antivan Crows: defending Treviso gives the reported +550 Antivan Crows strength and avoids leaving Treviso exposed, but Minrathous and its associated content take the hit.
- Wanting to preserve city quests: do the side content you care about in both locations before completing A Warden’s Best Friend, regardless of which city you expect to defend.
