A Switch Lite may behave differently from the standard Switch according to Nintendo’s caution on its listing. Check the exact model and the edition shown in your Nintendo account. The indexed Steam page labels Steam Deck compatibility Unknown, not Verified or Unsupported; treat that as an unresolved compatibility status rather than a guarantee either way.

The 15 GB figure is required free space, not the capacity of the whole disk. Leave additional working room for Windows, updates, and the store client. If the computer is below the minimum CPU, GPU, DirectX, or Windows requirement, deleting files or clearing a cache will not make it meet that requirement. A compatible internal SSD can help only when the problem is insufficient space and the computer’s interface supports the drive.
What should I do when a supported PC download fails?
Use this order after the game is available. It separates an account or service problem from a storage problem and avoids changing hardware settings unnecessarily.
- Confirm the purchase account and edition. Sign in to the Steam or Epic account that owns the game. Check that the library entry is the Windows PC edition rather than a console listing or a different account’s family-library item.
- Check the launch date and service status. Before November 10, a preorder may not have an install command. At or after launch, check the store client’s service-status notices before repeatedly starting the download.
- Confirm Windows and hardware. Recheck Windows 11 64-bit, the processor, GPU, DirectX 12, and 8 GB minimum RAM. Do not treat a download that begins as proof that the game will run.
- Check the destination drive. In the store’s install dialog, select a drive with at least 15 GB free and verify that the library folder has permission to write there. A nearly full system drive can still block an installation targeted at another drive if the client needs temporary space.
- Restart the client and computer. Steam Support’s general order begins with restarting Steam and the computer. This is a safe first reset after confirming the requirements.
- Clear Steam’s download cache. In Steam, go to Steam > Settings > Downloads > Clear Cache, sign in again, and retry. Clearing the cache removes client download data; it does not upgrade hardware or change the game’s requirements.
- Repair the Steam library folder. Open Steam > Settings > Storage, use the library folder’s options, and choose the repair command. Retry only after the repair completes.
- Try another region or drive. If the service is operating and the original drive is healthy, Steam Support lists changing the download region or selecting a different install drive as later checks. Do not move the installation if the alternate drive also lacks the required space.
- Verify installed files after an interrupted install. For a game that is installed but crashes or reports missing files, open Library > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. Verification replaces damaged or missing files; it cannot fix an incompatible GPU or Windows version.
If these steps fail after release, record the exact error text, account, Windows version, hardware models, install drive, and time of the failure before contacting Steam, Epic, or the publisher. Those details let support distinguish an entitlement problem from a system requirement failure.
How do I fix a PS5 download or launch problem?

- Verify the account and transaction. Sign in with the PSN account that bought or redeemed the game and check the transaction history. A padlock beside the title can indicate a license problem rather than a damaged download.
- Check PlayStation service status. A store or licensing outage can prevent a valid purchase from appearing as playable. Wait for the service to recover before repeatedly cancelling the transaction.

What should Switch owners check?
Nintendo lists both a Switch edition and a Switch 2 edition. The regular Switch listing says that edition is supported on Switch 2, so buying new hardware is not automatically required for an owner of the existing Switch. Nintendo also notes that Switch Lite play can differ, so use the model-specific listing and compatibility information rather than assuming every Switch form factor behaves identically.
Check the edition and storage
Nintendo’s separate listings provide preliminary estimates: the Switch 2 edition is listed at 6.5 GB, while the Switch edition is listed at 5.1 GB; the Switch listing shows 5 GB when describing that version on Switch 2. These numbers belong to different listings and are not a settled universal download size. During preorder, Nintendo warns that the size may not be finalized.
Open the purchase page from the Nintendo account that owns the game, confirm whether it is the Switch or Switch 2 edition, and check System Settings > Data Management for free console or microSD space. Do not delete another game until you have confirmed the edition and the final size displayed by Nintendo after release.

Separate local play from online requirements
Aspyr lists co-op for up to four players. Local play and online play are separate questions: Nintendo associates online play for the Switch 2 listing with a Nintendo Switch Online membership, while the PS5 listing associates online play with PlayStation Plus. A subscription requirement for online features does not mean a subscription is needed for every local mode.
If the download is stuck
Confirm the correct Nintendo account, install location, system update, and available storage. - Do not confuse a preorder with access. A store page can accept an order before the November 10 launch.
- Do not use generic platform names. Identify PS5 versus PS4, Series X|S versus Xbox One, and Switch versus Switch 2 or Switch Lite.

Does preordering guarantee that I can preload the game?
No. A preorder confirms an order, not a universal preload schedule. Each storefront can expose its own download controls and timing, so check the account’s order page and the store’s current support notice near launch.
What does Steam Deck compatibility marked “Unknown” mean?
It means Steam has not assigned a Verified, Playable, or Unsupported classification on the indexed listing. It is not evidence that the game will work perfectly or that it cannot run; wait for an official classification or publisher guidance.
Why do Nintendo pages show different download sizes?
