Which Easter eggs are best documented?
Bloober Team’s remake, published by Konami for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, launched October 8, 2024. The original Silent Hill 2 was released for PlayStation 2 in 2001. PlayStation’s official preview said the remake contains numerous references to the original alongside new things to solve, so familiar details sit within a retelling that also changes and expands the experience. Room 106 is the clearest documented cross-game callback in these guides. GameSpot connects the room to the one Heather and Douglas use in Silent Hill 3; GameFAQs separately identifies Douglas’s hat and a Seal of Metatron reference there. GameSpot describes a red sigil beneath damaged wallpaper that becomes apparent on a later return. Treat the hat, wall mark, and room association as parts of one discovery cluster, rather than three separate eggs. 2. Maria finds an outfit associated with the original game
At Jack’s Inn, Maria finds the outfit associated with her appearance in the 2001 Silent Hill 2. It is a visual callback, but it also works as a character moment: the reference is encountered through Maria rather than presented as a detached collectible. 3. Blue Creek Apartments has a familiar door number
After leaving Wood Side Apartments through the red door, the door at Blue Creek Apartments is numbered 208. GameSpot identifies the number as an echo of the original game’s apartment numbering. It is an environmental callback, not evidence that 208 is a puzzle answer. (GameSpot’s guide)
4. A bathroom hole recalls Silent Hill 4: The Room
GameFAQs identifies a hole in a Saul Street Apartment bathroom as a reference to Henry Townshend’s bathroom in Silent Hill 4: The Room. That makes this the list’s clearest callback beyond the two Silent Hill 2 games and the Room 106 link to Silent Hill 3. GameSpot points out a blanket-like shape in the back seat of James’s car that can suggest a body. The view is difficult to interpret, however, and the guide itself treats the detail as ambiguous. It is worth noticing as an unsettling visual possibility, but it should not be presented as confirmation that the remake shows Mary’s body there. (GameSpot’s guide)

Why not list ten?
The available guides overlap on Room 106, and broader notes about original-game puzzle references do not identify enough individual mechanisms to turn them into separate, verifiable entries. PlayStation’s August 2024 hands-on report notes clever puzzle references to the original, but does not enumerate them in the cited account. Splitting one Room 106 scene into multiple list items or inventing puzzle specifics would make the count look fuller without making the guide more useful. (PlayStation’s hands-on report)
The framing is also consistent with the remake’s broader design. Konami says it expands explorable areas, uses an over-the-shoulder view, revamps combat, and adds cutscenes.
