In Slime Rancher 2, “secret door” can mean three different things: an ordinary Plort Door opened by the matching statue, a Grey Labyrinth Shadow Plort Door that takes Shadow Plorts, or a Nullifier Door opened with a Nullifier. The August 31, 2026 Itemaps maps list 17 ordinary Plort Doors on Rainbow Island, plus 11 ordinary Plort Doors, 25 Shadow Plort Doors, and 17 Nullifier Doors in the Grey Labyrinth. Start by identifying the category; the required item and route depend on it.

Identify the door before looking for its key

A door’s appearance or placement alone may not tell you which mechanic applies. Use the map category and the nearby puzzle elements to distinguish them:

  • Ordinary Plort Door: activate its matching Plort Statue with the corresponding plort. The Grey Labyrinth map lists 11; the Rainbow Island map lists 17.
  • Shadow Plort Door: deposit the listed amount of Shadow Plorts. The Grey Labyrinth map indexes 25, with costs varying by door.
  • Nullifier Door: use a Nullifier to open a secret-wall entrance. The Grey Labyrinth map indexes 17.

The counts are map inventory figures, not independently tested totals for every current game build. The locations below use Itemaps’ Grey Labyrinth index, updated August 31, 2026. Its coordinates are map coordinates, not in-game compass directions or guaranteed waypoints. Open the Grey Labyrinth map and match the numbered pin when a landmark description is brief.

Grey Labyrinth Shadow Plort Doors

These 25 entries are Shadow Plort Doors, not the ordinary statue-activated Plort Doors. Each cost below is the amount listed for that pin.

Other Grey Labyrinth doors

Ordinary Plort Doors

The Grey Labyrinth map indexes 11 ordinary Plort Doors separately from its Shadow Plort Doors. These use the matching Plort Statue rather than a Shadow Plort deposit. Some are shortcuts or routes to map nodes. The map confirms their category and count, but does not provide a complete narrative walkthrough for all 11; use the individual pins to locate a particular door and statue. See the Grey Labyrinth Plort Door pins.

Nullifier Doors

The same map indexes 17 Nullifier Doors. These are secret-wall entrances opened with a Nullifier, not Shadow Plorts. The map describes one beneath the map, reached by dropping near the Shadow Plort Door bridge, and another near Gigi. Its index does not give a full written route for every Nullifier Door, so use the Nullifier Door pins for their exact positions.

Rainbow Island Plort Doors

Itemaps’ Rainbow Island map lists 17 ordinary Plort Doors. They use the matching Plort Statue mechanic, not the Shadow Plort costs in the Grey Labyrinth list. The map source confirms the count and pins, but the available location index does not supply a complete written walkthrough for all 17. Filter for Plort Doors on the map to find the position you need. Open the Rainbow Island map.

Check progression before assuming a puzzle is blocked

Some routes into the Grey Labyrinth depend on progression and puzzle tools. Monomi Park Support’s March 13, 2026 article gives these prerequisites:

  • Mochi’s Archive Key blueprint: Mochi’s third Comm Station call provides it, but prior calls and interaction with research drones are required. The support article’s spoiler guidance says to find one drone after bursting the Boom Gordo and another after bursting the Flutter Gordo. After interacting with them, wait several in-game days for Mochi’s call.
  • Viktor’s Radiant Projector blueprint: Viktor’s fourth call provides it, and the tool is essential for puzzles granting access to the Grey Labyrinth. It becomes available after Viktor’s third call and after either the Boom or Flutter Gordo has been burst; several in-game days may pass before the call arrives.

If a Radiant Projector puzzle appears to have no solution, check that you have the blueprint and have met its call and Gordo conditions before treating the route as bugged. Read Monomi Park’s Slime Rancher 2 support article.

Using community maps carefully

Itemaps’ two region maps were marked updated August 31, 2026. A separate community map repository advertises locked-door filters alongside Gordos, nodes, and treasure pods, while a Steam guide links Rainbow Island and Grey Labyrinth map plates. Its comments note that coverage missed newer regions, so treat it as version-sensitive rather than a complete authority. View the community map repository or the Steam map guide.
