Season Pass Two is not included in the original Digital Deluxe Edition under the current Year Two store listings. Steam and Nintendo advise owners of that edition to buy Season Pass Two on its own; the Year Two Digital Deluxe bundle includes another copy of the base game. The dispute is over a phrase secondary coverage and players attribute to an earlier SEGA social post: “All future paid downloadable content.” That post and its full context have not been independently verified here, so the store listings clarify what is sold now but do not settle what the reported wording meant.
What the original Digital Deluxe Edition included
SEGA’s June 9, 2025 announcement described Digital Deluxe as including the base game and the original Season Pass. It said that pass would deliver six DLC waves, with additional racers and crossover content. The announcement did not name a second season pass on that page, and it noted that DLC contents and release dates could change.

SEGA described the edition this way: “The Digital Deluxe Edition includes both the base game and the Season Pass DLC, which expands the character lineup with guest stars from other universes (outside the realm of SEGA).” That is the official wording established for the 2025 product announcement; it is not, by itself, the reported promise about all future paid DLC.
What Year Two buyers are being offered
The current Year Two listings treat Season Pass Two as a separate purchase. Steam’s listing, checked October 12, 2026, gives this explicit advice to original Digital Deluxe owners: “if you ALREADY own the existing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Digital Deluxe Edition, please only purchase the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Season Pass Two. This bundle already contains Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and will count as a duplicate purchase.” Nintendo’s listing gives the same practical guidance.

Why players say Year Two should be free
MP1st reported on October 10, 2026 that SEGA had used the phrase “All future paid downloadable content” in an earlier social post, and said it reproduced a screenshot. A Reddit discussion dated October 12 shows players asking whether original Digital Deluxe buyers should receive Year Two and debating what that reported wording meant. The original post and its surrounding context were not independently verified for this account.

What to buy if you already own Digital Deluxe
- Want the Year Two content? Buy Season Pass Two by itself. Both Steam and Nintendo tell existing original Digital Deluxe owners to choose that option.
- Considering Year Two Digital Deluxe instead? Check the contents before purchasing. The bundle includes the base game, so Steam warns that it duplicates the game for owners of the original Digital Deluxe Edition.
- Unsure whether the reported promise applies? The current product listings do not include Season Pass Two with the original edition. The reported social-post wording remains unverified here, so the listings alone cannot determine what that post promised.
