It adds both characters as racers, the Patty Wagon, a Bikini Bottom course and original music. It is an add-on for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, not a standalone SpongeBob racing game.
What’s in the SpongeBob pack?
SEGA announced the crossover on June 22, 2025, as Wave 2 of the game’s Season Pass DLC. The later release notice confirms the pack includes SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick as racers, the Patty Wagon and the BiKiNi BOTTOM course. SEGA also lists five original in-game tracks:

Nintendo’s US eShop listing additionally describes six emotes per character and additional sounds. Those details are from Nintendo’s US listing; check your local platform store for the listing and availability in your region.
When did the SpongeBob DLC come out?
Nintendo’s US eShop lists November 19, 2025 as the pack’s release date. SEGA’s availability notice is dated November 20, 2025 and says the premium DLC is available. The dates refer to different sources and regions, so they need not indicate conflicting release information. SEGA’s June announcement had presented the content as upcoming and warned that its contents and timing could change; the November notice confirms its eventual availability.

How to get the SpongeBob DLC
The pack is digital DLC for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The steps depend on whether you already own the Season Pass or Digital Deluxe Edition:
- Update the game. SEGA says the game must be updated for the DLC.
- If you own the Season Pass or Digital Deluxe Edition, complete the game’s tutorial to access the DLC.
- If you own the standard or physical edition, purchase and download the pack from your platform’s store, then restart the game.
Check your platform’s live store listing for current regional availability and price. SEGA’s instructions describe the pack as a separate digital purchase for standard and physical-edition owners; they do not establish a physical release of the add-on.

How the crossover fits into the game
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launched on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch on September 25, 2025. The Steam and Epic Games Store versions followed on September 26, according to SEGA. SEGA describes crossplay across supported platforms.
The June SpongeBob announcement also named Avatar Legends and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as upcoming crossover content. Those franchises are separate from the SpongeBob pack; they are not additional characters or tracks in it.

SEGA’s launch materials report 23 Sonic-universe characters, more than 70 gadgets, more than 70,000 machine combinations and online play for up to 12 players. These are publisher-reported game features, not independent measurements, and they describe the broader game rather than the SpongeBob DLC.
