The announcement identifies these 11 performances as “New dates.” The count of listed dates is distinct from SEGA’s stated total of 13 additional shows.

Why did SEGA add shows?
SEGA described the expansion as a response to strong fan demand. At the time of the announcement, it said performances in Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and New York had sold out, while many upcoming stops had limited ticket availability. Those statements describe ticket conditions then, not current inventory. SEGA’s announcement also listed previously announced June and July 2024 performances in Paris, New York, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, Greensboro, and San Diego.
What is the Sonic Symphony show?
SEGA described Sonic Symphony as a multimedia concert built around more than three decades of music from the Sonic franchise. A symphony orchestra and full rock band perform while Sonic-related footage and moments play on a large screen. The announcement notes that setlists vary and that composers Jun Senoue and Tomoya Ohtani have featured in the production. SEGA and soundtrec co-produced the show, with MGP Live presenting it worldwide. SEGA’s release also points fans to the Sonic Symphony website and merchandise shop; it does not specify products or establish current stock.

How the World Tour developed
The tour debuted at London’s Barbican Hall on September 16, 2023, followed by its U.S. premiere at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on September 30, 2023. An earlier expansion included Cleveland on April 20, 2024, as well as Montreal, Portland, Milwaukee, and other dates, according to Playhouse Square’s copy of an earlier SEGA announcement.
The available releases do not provide an independently attributed attendance, revenue, or ticket-sales total for the Sonic Symphony World Tour. A figure of 5.8 million views mentioned in the earlier announcement’s company background refers instead to a 2021 online concert for Sonic the Hedgehog’s 30th anniversary; it is not a live-tour attendance figure. The dates in SEGA’s 2024 “New dates” list are historical, not upcoming shows. SEGA announced a separately named production, Sonic Live In Concert, on May 27, 2026. Its announcement listed U.S. performances beginning September 20, 2026, a London performance on September 30, more U.S. dates through November 1, and four UK dates in February 2027. It gave May 29, 2026, as the general ticket-sale date and May 28 for presale. SEGA describes Sonic Live In Concert as a distinct production featuring a live ensemble with rock musicians, vocalists, and electronic elements, accompanied by synchronized HD footage. That format should not be assumed to describe or rebrand the Sonic Symphony World Tour. The 2026 announcement also quotes Ivo Gerscovich, SEGA of America’s Chief Business & Brand Officer, saying, “Music has always been a core part of Sonic’s identity, shaping how fans experience this world across generations,” and Ollie Rosenblatt, Senbla’s CEO, saying, “Sonic has some of the most distinct and celebrated music in gaming.” Both remarks refer to Sonic Live In Concert.
