When will the Collector’s Edition ship?
There is no confirmed replacement delivery date. Limited Run Games’ latest status, dated October 5, 2026, says the replacement statues are in production. The company’s PS4 Collector’s Edition listing estimates shipping in Q4 2026, but that is an estimate—not proof that replacements or corrected bundles have shipped. The game itself launched on Friday, October 25, 2024, according to SEGA Sammy. Kotaku reported that the first Collector’s Edition bundles reached customers 14 months later. That interval describes the first arrivals reported by the outlet, not the delivery experience of every buyer.
Why was the bundle delayed, and what happened to the statue?
The Collector’s Edition was a separately assembled premium bundle, not simply the standard game disc. In March 2026, after the first bundles had arrived, Limited Run acknowledged that the statue did not meet its quality standards. The company paused additional shipments and began a new statue production cycle.

In its March 13 production update, Limited Run wrote: “The tl;dr of it is: this statue did not meet the quality bar you deserve, and it’s not something that we’re willing to put the Limited Run Games name on.” The company said it was retooling, reviewing prototypes, testing paint masters, and adding quality checkpoints. Kotaku’s late-2025 coverage described customer complaints about the long wait and the quality of the shipped statue, including buyers seeking refunds. Negative reactions also appeared in a Sonic Stadium discussion. Those reports show why some purchasers felt shortchanged; they do not establish how all buyers felt or what share of customers were dissatisfied.

What can customers do about the statue?
Limited Run’s March 2026 support statement offered customers a no-cost replacement path or a refund option. The company later clarified that every Collector’s Edition customer would receive a remastered statue, including people who had already received the initial shipment. If you ordered the edition, use the support instructions in Limited Run’s March statement to check the remedy that applies to your order. The July commitment to provide a remastered statue is a replacement assurance, not a newly stated refund policy.

What was included in the Collector’s Edition?
Limited Run’s PS4 listing describes a physical game disc and collectible items: an art book, soundtrack, Sonic and Shadow Dreamcast statue, commemorative Dreamcast jewel case, SteelBook, Chao figurines, keychain, and numbered certificate. The page is sold out and currently lists an estimated Q4 2026 shipping window.
Kotaku reported a price of $249.99 before taxes and shipping. That is a historical reported price, not a current offer. The Collector’s Edition’s value proposition was its collection of memorabilia; readers primarily looking to play should distinguish that bundle from a platform-specific physical copy of the game. Availability varies by platform, and the sold-out PS4 collector listing does not establish stock for other editions or retailers.
