The 2025 change applied to existing members at their first payment date on or after June 24, 2025; check your account’s renewal screen for the amount and date that apply to you.
What changed in Canada in 2025?
MobileSyrup reported on April 16, 2025, that Sony had emailed Canadian subscribers about higher 12-month prices. The report said existing members would see the new price on their next payment date on or after June 24, 2025. It also reported that changing a membership before that payment—including upgrading, downgrading, or adding time—could update the plan based on the new prices. These are rates and timing reported from customer emails, not a newly announced 2026 increase or a public Sony press release. MobileSyrup’s April 16, 2025 report quoted the email’s explanation: “This price adjustment will enable us to continue to bringing high-quality games and benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service.”

All figures in the table are the annual prices reported by MobileSyrup from Sony’s 2025 customer email. The report did not identify a named Sony spokesperson.
How much is PlayStation Plus in Canada now?
The Canadian PlayStation Store listing reviewed for this article displays recurring 12-month prices of CAD $79.99 for Essential, $134.99 for Extra, and $159.99 for Premium. It also lists monthly and three-month options. Store prices and promotions can change, and a subscriber’s renewal amount may be account-specific; the historical 2025 rates above should not be treated as the prices displayed to every Canadian customer today. Check the Canadian PlayStation Plus Store page and your account’s next-payment details for the applicable price. Sony says the subscription continues at the selected billing interval until canceled.

Which tier makes sense for you?
The main difference is the included game access and features. Catalogs and included games can change, so compare the current selection with what you expect to use rather than assuming a particular title will remain available.

Compare the price shown for your chosen billing interval with the features and games you expect to use. A longer billing interval has a different upfront charge from monthly or three-month billing; review the renewal frequency as well as the total.

How to check, change, or cancel your subscription
Sony’s support instructions let subscribers manage plans and payment frequency through Account Management or the subscription settings on a PlayStation console. Check the next payment date and amount before renewal, then use Sony’s account tools if you want to change or cancel.
- On the web: Sign in to PlayStation Account Management and open subscription management to review your plan, next payment date, and amount.
- On PS5: Open Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Subscriptions, then choose PlayStation Plus to review available management options.
- On PS4: Open Settings > Account Management > Account Information > PlayStation Subscriptions, then select PlayStation Plus.
Labels or available options may vary by console software and account. For current prices, Sony directs customers to the PlayStation Plus guide or PlayStation Store; confirm the amount shown for your account before making a change. Sony’s subscription support guide has the management instructions.
